Elwood P Dowd
I would imagine Derby would have redone their accounts, using the “approved” amortisation, months ago, what the outcome of the redone accounts is, I have no idea. Now the EFL have stated they are not going to appeal the punishment it will be, if the redone accounts are within FFP, in Derby interest to submit the accounts to the EFL as quickly as possible to get this soft transfer embargo lifted. B4ev6is
More like not wanting massive protest outside there doors with thousands angry Derby fans and press involved so had to back down but like one person said this fight is not over yet. But hopeful now take over will happen and season ticket details will be out asp.

uttoxram75
For them to use the word regrettably when their own legal counsel told them there are no grounds for appeal is ducking outrageous, unprofessional and proves they are out to get us based on some twits opinion rather than cold hard evidence. bankers

Norman
Screw the takeover, screw the embargo - as Sum 41 said, we're in too deep. Appeal the fine, sue the EFL for the time spent under embargo and being put at a competitive disadvantage, sue Gibson, sue the Wycombe chairman and play the youth players. Not really, accept and move on might be the best for the future if the club. Would love us to go after them, though.

Gritstone Ram
I suspect this is because if they got points deduction it wouldn’t be last season and I suspect they believe they have a stronger chance of a larger points deduction if the fail the FFP

hintonsboots
BBC Sport's Simon Stone The EFL is deeply disappointed at how this has ended. The feeling is the written reasons left them no realistic prospect of success with any appeal and therefore to proceed would have been counter-productive. They do feel they have won an argument over the amortisation of players and will now press for a rule change to prevent any other club following the path Derby created. As per the previous judgement, Derby now have to resubmit accounts by 18 August. The EFL will then assess them to see whether they meet their profit and sustainability rules. However, any decision on that and subsequent case will have no effect on the start of the 2021-22 season. Derby will play in the Championship and Wycombe in League One. Comrade 86
1 minute ago, ilkleyram said: Because we haven’t said that we’re not appealing yet Appealing would simply prolong the process and with it the embargo and would likely end up costing us a deal more than the notional £100k fine. I can't see it personally. With new owners waiting in the wings and a new season only weeks away, it's time for the club to get back to footballing matters and to leave the wonderful EFL ruminating on how 'regrettable' it is that they've failed to drag another member club into administration. I'd also wager that we're about to find out that Wycombe's owner is all bark and no bite too. As for those claiming we're still 'screwed' would you care to show your workings? Given you seem so intent on making sure fellow Rams remain unsettled and concerned for our future, I think it'd be only fair if you offer some plausible numbers to indicate whether and by how much you calculate that we've overspent. TaahnRam
Aside from the obvious relief at this decision as we know our resubmission of accounts is now key. Having scanned the written document released by the DC though its clear that we come out of this pretty poorly as to our conduct throughout. Most interesting though is the assertion that if the DC felt a point deduction was warranted this would have been imposed last season. How that fits with what happened with Wednesday is anyone guess
Black ('n' White) Sheep
"Regrettably"?! The EFL really are a bunch of dodgy, vindictive Bamford's aren't they? Fingers crossed this finally means the embargo can be lifted and we can bring in some players. I imagine we've already lost out on some targets who weren't prepared to wait. I suspect that the source of the deep disappointment is the shredding of their reputation as a competent regulator....

If your own lawyers are telling you there’s no grounds for appeal (as DCFC had said in their own statement a week ago), then carrying on talking as if we’d done something worth a points deduction is deeply unprofessional. Prattling on about rule changes due to something we’d done is also unprofessional. They drafted the original rules, and could easily have said straight line amortisation is the only permitted method. The fact that they didn’t is their own oversight. Petulant, idiotic organisation.
