Cloughie said that he could manage England in his spare time whilst still managing a top English Club.

The hardest part of managing a club is getting the players you want signed up to play.

An England manager has a much wider player base and does not need to worry about transfer fees, wages, contracts, drink-driving etc. Frank is a top player, top manager, all round nice guy.

He could manage to juggle both jobs.

Absolutely zero chance. This isn't 1972.

Right pair of party poopers you are!

Only see the negatives.

Where one guy sees problems, another sees opportunities.

Now where did I leave my rose-tinted specs?

Or an opportunity to be another problem. ?

Did they sign the players they wanted? It’s also debatable they managed to get them to play.

The PE teacher definitely signed players he wanted, he turned down some decent opportunities too!

Fact!?

Frank Lampard has accused Ross Barkley of showing a "lack of professionalism" after he was pictured shirtless in a nightclub during the international break.

So the line between professionalism and unprofessionalism is keeping the shirt on I guess? Or is Frank "209 beers, 75 Jagermeisters and 64 shots of Sambuca" Lampard just bit hypocrite? Barkley should've been focusing on working his way back in and train well, said Lampard...

Maybe, just maybe Lampard should've been focusing on getting the team ready for the most important game of the season instead of spending over 2800£ at the bar with them. With or without the shirt, that's very unprofessional IMO.

Lead by an example, double standards etc springs to mind.

I agree to an extent but why shouldn't they have celebrated immediately that night after beating Leeds? Also wasn't that receipt debunked to be fake.

Don't know about the fakeness, haven't heard such.

Obviously the celebrations should've been left to be kept after the Villa game. The effects of alcohol are hardly positive and the biggest game of the season was just days away!

A bit like the England rugby team then.

The general jist of the press conference was that he didn’t particularly mind Barkley going out. The BBC appear to have just focused on one comment to make a story.

Just watched the highlights of the Valencia game; they'd have been absolutely smashed if Valencia didn't miss 3 or 4 absolute sitters. Need to sort that defending out; looks so disorganised, can only ride your luck so long.

Chelsea currently sitting in 4th place in the premiership.

Yet oddly, as close to the bottom, as they are to the top.

Highlights just how good Liverpool have been. Be interesting to see what Frank does in January now the transfer ban has been lifted, stick with his youth or bring in more experience.

Saw the #lampardout hashtag was being used yesterday, photoshops of his banner with Lampard Out, all the talk was they would be fine with mid table and bringing youth through, but sat 4th and lose a few some lose their heads.

Haven’t they lost five out of their last seven league games?

Any run of that kind will invite pressure on Frank, especially when three of those defeats are home games they’d normally be expected to win, and comfortably too.

You also have to take into account the league table. Spurs and Man Utd are picking up results and closing the gap to 4th.

So from looking like they will finish in the top 4 unchallenged, they could go into the new year clinging on to 4th place.

Why is this a surprise to anyone? Expectations at Chelsea are massive. The dial down was only temporary.
