At least with Ibe, there's no transfer fee to be amortised.

I think we need to take a gamble on some free players. 20k per week equates to 1 million per year. How many players have we signed that have cost us far more than that and then losing their transfer fees over the length of the contracts as well?

Is scary when you work the annual cost of the likes of, Anya, Josefzoon, Johnson, Butterfield and Co have been, when you take in the cost of wages and purchase price.

Jozwiak Is probably higher risk.

Big fee and who really knows what standard the Polish premier league is.

Exciting though right? Nice to have players that aren’t “proven championship players.” Think everyone would have Jozwiak over a “proven” player like Jacob Murphy for example, we all like an unknown quantity.

Can't believe the amount of people dropping Sibley, probably put best player since he came into the team and biggest talent, after 1 bad game, for someone who was good for us years ago.

I'd love to have Ibe as a rotation option, but dropping Sibley would be mad

Sibley will play, Ibe and Jozwiak on the wings and Sibley will have to perform or Lawrence will take his spot in the 10 role as he is good there. Sibley was poor towards the back end of last season as well, so not just one game but while Lawrence is injured he has a chance to prove himself.  Sibley is a great prospect but as of yet he has alot to improve on, he needs to learn to find space and his link up play could be alot sharper.

The biggest problem Sibley's had is being the only threat in the team, so the opposition just double up on him.  His tailing off last season coincided with Lawrence and Waghorn getting suspended, and Holmes injured etc.  Chuck a couple of Lawrence, Waghorn, Jozwiak, Ibe etc in there too, and suddenly Sibley will get a lot more space.

Looked good in the international games, which is a good sign.

Also, looking at Poznan's transfer record, of the 10 or so players that have left them for more than 2m only one seems to be a flop. Although that one is a winger who went to England ?

Ibe probably has a higher risk of not performing. But on a free, (hopefully) reasonable wages? What's not to like.

Not too sure about this one.People wetting themselves cos of a loan period of a few weeks with the occasional cameo. He's done nothing at Bournemouth in about 2 seasons. His wages would most likely be out of our price range anyway.Ask yourselves this...If Ibe was still with Bournemouth in the Championship this season would you be bricking it at the thought of us facing him? I certainly wouldn't.This move if it happened...has got "Anya" written all over it.Sorry it's a no from me.

The reason why it isn’t an ‘Anya’ is precisely what you said earlier - his loan spell with us. He showed he was a class above most players at this level.

If as you suggest we need to take care with him, how does it help going on to a forum and saying the lad 'has become broken'?

Because he has become broken and we will need to mend him. No point hiding what's history. Use history to learn from mistakes or to put things in place that improve him

Bit of a strange take when:

1) Sibley only played at the back end of last season

2) Was basically our only real threat in a lot of that period

To be honest I think it's just largely a case of in the last few games that teams know that he is literally the only threat and they don't really need to worry about anyone else. Once we have other players in I think you will see him pick up space again.

Your general point about have players to rotate with is a good one though as it what crippled us in the last few games of the last season and what's hurting us now is we lack depth in those attacking areas.
