Hope your train is running okay in the strike. Mine’s not so I can’t get up from Bristol ☹️
I also travel from Bristol so I came up to my daughter 's in Loughborough today and will stay til Tuesday and see my greatgrandchildren. These days I can't manage to travel there and back in one day anyway as I find travelling alone very tiring.

My dad, Archie ( see my name!) lived inShardlow til he was 8 and when the family moved to Leics he defied all his elder brothers ,who became bindippers, and stayed a Ram. Really strange as he was a very mild mannered man and I never knew him argue with anyone. Obviously I’m very grateful he kept the faith!

Sorry to hear you were kicked off @archram by a glory merchant. I know it was your long term desire to start a matchday thread, and you were doing an excellent job. Cruel, cruel way to treat one of our female Octogenerian Rams.
Thank you @i-ram, your support is much appreciated. We have to accept that most groups will have their prima donna!

I thought I better bump this thread as you’ll probably have a bit to say after we hear from Paul Warne.
I was also feeling neglected as everyone is adding to the ‘Cambridge away ‘thread !

Cambridge Utd v Derby County
at Abbey Field
3 pm
on Saturday 1st October and definitely not the 8th
I thought I’d get this started while I remember and to give you plenty of time to consider lots of different teams and set-ups before you hear our new boss and then you can move on to educated suppositions after that!
P.S. ( on the same page this week) If I knew how I’d make this bigger but I thought I’d better not deviate from Wycombe winning formula.

I just love it that we get our name in anyway!

Just to let anyone who’s interested know I had a fantastic time yesterday! What I hadn’t realised was that my son’s friend’s company were match sponsors so we got lots of official photos taken. ( I did say to the sponsor after the first 20 minutes I was glad he was paying not me !)
Great that we won with 2 well taken goals. With lots of steps to go up and down and so many people around I was shattered when I got home and slept for almost 11 hours last night!
Have just realised I’ll need to start the thread for the next game as we won - someone may need to remind me as it’s so long until then!

I got so excited starting a thread I forgot to say why. I achieve one of my bucket list objectives on Saturday, being part of a hospitality package - 71 seasons after I first went to BBG. Haven’t always been able to attend regularly but have remained a half or quarter fan and followed us faithfully.
My youngest was 50 this year and a well off friend bought him a hospitality package - so, as well as a meal, we get to sit in the director’s box. So, he’s now able to do as he promised and he doesn’t even have to pay for it!
I’m so excited and it’s taken me so long to type this, someone has probably got in before me to start the thread.
P.S. I hope the food’s better than last night’s football ?
