  1. See this was all a plan by @David to bring some noise to a quiet thread 😂

Truthfully though, even the most bias of Rams know Forest are somewhat irrelevant to us next year, unless we draw them in the cup.

@Red_Dawn no doubt you want to try and stir an occasional response and we will no doubt comment back on any struggles in your 2nd season but really, do we really care what you’re up to right now? Don’t you have a Forest forum to frequent?

Absolutely right. They’ve already had a ‘try before you buy’🤣

I’ve not followed all the recent summer dealings in depth but I really hope we didn’t structure anything based on appearances?

Sadly, this story has a sense of inevitability about it. I’ll be really surprised if Bielik makes much above 20 appearances next season.

  3. I’ve not been feeling twitchy at all, mostly just waiting for Warne’s plan to unfold and barely commented on any threads.

I’m now at the point where I’m starting to get excited though. The defence looks absolutely sorted for league 1, midfield we were already strong even if we are to lose Knight. Just need the finishing touches to our wing play and forward line up.

There’s a good squad for this league and higher taking shape, I’m liking what I see and genuinely believe we’re in for a good season.

This is the team that stopped Italy getting to the World Cup 9 months after Italy stopped us winning Euro 2020. Football's a strange game.

That’s the bit people are not giving England enough credit for tonight. They beat the Italians 1-0 little over a year ago; yet couldn’t handle the England pressing tactics at all.

You don’t get results like that being utter dross; England did really well tonight.

Don’t think it will happen and I hope it doesn’t. Want Luton to stick it up the premier league due to all the snobbery around their promotion, particularly from red dogs who think they’re Billy big b******* and getting in Europe next season

    Agree with this.

Luton have worked hard to get into the premier league. I’ve no strong feelings about them, it’s not a particularly great place to visit but so what.

We own that 11 point badge for all that went wrong pre season and during it, so I’m not going to wish it on Luton.

  6. The Doc all day long.

Others such as Jewell, Billy yeah ok

BUT I’m surprised he’s not popped up but the man who signed this fella deserves an dishonourable mention.

Ruined my first real memories of the Rams; took a long time to forgive my old man putting his poster on my wall. Talk about child cruelty 😭

  7. Still feels like the EFL need to get a grip on football ownership rules.

Really a Crouch led review should have been forcing football authorities to get their house in order for the wider football community, as in fans, with a big or else. All this just punishes fans, club staff and local businesses more than anything. Be interesting how many local M.P’s make noise around Wigan’s potential extinction.

Does anybody use East Midlands Parkway? - seriously whenever I use the train it stops there and no one gets on or off - I know of little reason to consider using it for those living in and around Derby

Handy for those of us out in the villages heading to London occasionally, saves a journey to Derby or Tamworth for me. The car parking is pretty expensive mind!

i guess his salary last year was set by the eFL. And this year it would be ‘tba’. So whether or not Notts county is a stalking horse, there will be some to-ing and fro-ing.

I’m purely guessing on this basis and D.M being a fairly smart guy, being as he can negotiate for himself, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine after all these years, he might know a friendly journalist to run a story of notts county being interested.

He may well still want to sign for us, best season ever, the hat tricks, all other things considered ; it still wouldn’t be a bad tactic, part of playing hard ball as you go into negotiations.

Anyway, still think he’ll sign 🐑

I'm going. I support Derby, and Fozzy, not the opposition. What an absolutely awful take you have.

Sorry, I’m normally a happy clapper season ticket holder, have been for a long time with family. So I’ll happily donate to any testimonial fund of Fozzy but watching us play Stoke who I’ve seen plenty of times doesn’t appeal to me.

If it were a league or cup game I’d be there, but I was hoping for something a bit romantic like his old playing mates, or maybe against someone a bit more exciting opposition than Stoke, different opinion to yours no doubt; thanks for the put down.

Perhaps the rules and regulations (including tax rules) forbid the club getting involved in anything other than lending the stadium out for the event. Perhaps Fozzy and his committee decided this is what they wanted to do as his testimonial (not yours or mine). Perhaps they didn’t want to take a financial risk.

Anyway I’m going. And we won’t fill PP anyway - we didn’t fill it for Shaun Barker and we didn’t fill the BBG for Alan Hinton (the biggest testimonial gate in my lifetime) - even though it will be a reasonably competitive game as preseason goes. I would much prefer to watch that than a constructed fun eleven match with joke penalties and 30 substitutions.

Biggest gate I suspect was Ted McMinn testimonial, when there was no segregation and Rangers fans pretty much took over. Wonder what the receipts were for that? Different player and situation but shows with the right fixture, you can draw the crowds.

Imagine playing for a football club for 10 years and your reward is a game against Stoke. Think I’d retire

Imagine expecting fans to come and celebrate your achievement by playing Stoke, many will repeat chuffing STOKE!! Someone has lost the plot here, saving costs maybe, but it’s a false saving if fans don’t turn up.

Much as I like Fozzy, I doubt 4 of us will bother. When you think of glamour fixtures we’ve done for past testimonials, this just sucks.

The under 21s are decimated, as we knew they would be.

I'd have liked to keep Kido Taylor-Hart, but we might not be able to afford him.

I'm also pleased Carlos Richards has been offered new terms.

Not really too surprised by any other names on that list.

Genuine question to you and others that follow the academy, when you say as we knew they would be, is this the financial pressure or just they were not likely to make the first team?

I’ve not been since we stopped playing at St George’s. So my source of what’s coming through tends to be here or limited highlights, but I’ve not seen  any great performances that stick in my mind, bar a few 18’s games.

  14. Definitely me and all the family, knowing we’re able to build a bit better squad has lifted us already.

Text messages now upbeat, we can give it a good go and come June we’ll be clicking social media to see who’s going, staying, signing etc.

Already can’t wait, glass half full 🐑

Of course we’re going to p*** it all on a s**t or bust for any gumps looking; aren’t they more concerned about their own survival?

@sagemade a point about selling Bielik, for me this says any surplus we generate, we can spend on new players. This will help massively if not only Bielik but say Knight commands an half reasonable fee.

Warne can mould his squad this summer, with hopefully some decent lower league players, coming into their prime; instead of totally being reliant on young loanees or last pay day ones.

i dont think many will pick up points, all teams have very difficult games. it will take a real few suprise results to change positions now which as we know is still possible

It’s like eating a $**t sandwich wanting Leeds or Everton to win and get above Forest. Can see it with Everton but not so sure Leeds will.

Last day of the season fun beckons.

They dropped us down to league one

We thought we’d go back up
But we’re just flat track bullies
    So we are staying put

    Delayed ole oles

I like that, made me chuckle this morning, kind of gallows humour, it’s only a game, one yesterday, had we had 11 men, we might of won.

Trying to think of a phrase to look forward to next year, how about “build back better”, feels catchy, might have heard it somewhere else mind.

    What an evening that was!

I’ll never forget Sibbo giving it big time to the Arsenal full back, after the 4th I think? He must have riled him but it epitomised Sibleys passion and also the temperament he needed to work on.

Just funny though, I liked it.
