The Brook fight is really exciting. I think I'd put my money on Brook with a late stoppage. Genuinely a great match up.

Making great fights is easy at that weight

It's finely poised alright, into 4th and can't call it.

He'd batter me and anyone else on this forum to a pulp but any professional boxer would be able to do that. He is clearly a talent but he is clearly being overhyped at the moment. Would people rate him as much if it wasn't for Eddie Hearn? I very much doubt it. Joshua hasn't properly proved himself in a hostile atmosphere yet whereas Fury went to Germany and schooled klitschko, who wasn't given half as much credit as Joshua is at the moment. He had no idea how to counter Fury. Fury is a few inches taller than Joshua so Joshua would have to adapt if he were to fight fury and show if he win a proper boxing match rather than going for KOs.

Not sure i totally agree with you but going to give you some support as I part understand the sentiment about Fury. People can loathe him as a character but it was a bigger achievement in my eyes.

That said I still think A.J's own achievement last night was equally right up there considering how little ring time with real contenders, not punchbags he's had. That he nearly ran out of steam in the 5th for me showed such inexperience. Yet the courage and determination to stand firm and get through that and the 6th shows he's a big heart and quite resilient.

Would love to see Fury v Joshua but will Fury ever get the legal stuff sorted and will he ever get to near his old shape. Would hate to see him fight AJ out of condition. A proper match up though would be both intriguing and tasty.

    Re-opened, not refurbished.

What a load of lily livered, spineless buggers we have in the match threads.

I'll give the place a quick dust and put new energy saving bulbs in, no license so you'll have to bring your own.

Probably be standing room only by Xmas.

Hid in the Pirelli suite last night, didn't look at the forum, knew there would be internet meltdown.

Instead consoled myself verbally fending off a few Albion gloaters, that we will still finish well above them, they don't have the squad i.m.o and will get found out but hoped they do enough over winter to stay up, just so we can put them in their place next year on our promotion push ;)

People who expect their point to be taken seriously on a public forum, yet insist on using wot instead of what, etc.

Genuine spelling mistakes I can live with, but to not even be arsed to type 1 or 2 extra characters when you wish to express yourself means I'll never take your point seriously.

It's probs just me who has this problem, obvs.

People criticising a school they didn't go to, with spelling and grammatical errors.

Reading some of the comments on the telegraph.

"I wouldnt never send me kids there"

    "there staff are useless"

"Why go to such a school lol was always the bad school wen I lived in Derby"

"Don't sound good does it. Shud stick to his French lol"

"More interested in bums on seats. Then there staff or pupils"

If you are going to criticise a school and it's teachings make sure you are educated enough to make sure you don't look like an idiot.

And then there's the old British thing of build em up and knock em down. Where we like a hero up until he's "made it" and then we tear him down and look for a new one. Being an Olympic champion might protect him a bit though.

It's just nice to see that there's good fights. Good British fights. And the heavyweight division isn't so frickin boring as it has been since Lewis!!

Thank God the Klitshcko reign is ending.

I think even Derby's Dave Ryan is mandatory for the Commonwealth title? Might be wrong but I think he is?

What a cracking post Alpha, I'll just pick a bit of the end to quote and ask has British boxing ever been this good, not since the days of dominating the middleweight division can I remember such hype, potential and swagger in G.B boxing.

Its truly an exciting moment, we might never have so many champions or contenders ever again, the.gym's must be doing something right.

They're trying to morph Joshua into a new kind of Bruno, can see it now. With careful fight selection he'll get there and then face the best to show whether he deserves real praise. All good for the sport though, it needs a few clean heroes to reverse the negative press and anti boxing brigade at times.

Decent undercard for this, that's my justification for PPV sorted!

Lee Selby vs Eric Hunter (IBF featherweight title)

Jamie McDonnell vs Fernando Vargas (WBA bantamweight title)

    George Groves vs David Brophy

    Brian Rose vs Matthew Macklin

    Ohara Davies vs Andy Keates

    Ted Cheeseman vs Ian Henry

    Conor Benn v s/o

Looking forward to Rose vs Macklin as much as any.

George Groves readying up for another last chance title fight?

I'm disgusted by the actions of the boxing world. In hope of knock outs and knock downs refs let the beating go too far. Refs job is see that safety of the boxer is properly considered through the whole match.

Just seen a side on picture of that bulging eye, won't post it in view of decency but that is one humongous swelling! Should have been stopped sooner, Eubank had the fight long won bar a knock down coming his way. Oddly reminded me of some of those Benn v Eubank snr bouts, toe to toe stuff.

Special K just too good tonight, when will Eddie Hearn get him a decent fight?

Poor bloke he beat looked scared from the minute he started his ringwalk.

Eubank Jnr looked pretty special tonight, soon be on for bigger fights.

Lost count of the number of uppercuts, towards the end had breather, but forced stoppage in 10th due to opponents swollen eye, masked how dominant he had been.

There wasn't lots of action in the others either was there?

I've seen the first 3 but not seen this one yet. As a franchise I can take it or leave it but I realise it's not aimed at me.

There's limited action and lots of moping and love triangle stuff because it's a film that shifts the usual action tropes to be more accommodating for women. It's basically The Running Man for women. And that's great! There's no reason films shouldn't be targeted at women as long as they don't hijack men's fun like the new Ghostbusters film looks like it's trying to do. But it's quite funny that you and Wolfie are saying there wasn't enough action.

I take it your lads aren't 'lads' in the 'lad culture' sort of way?

Suppose it depends on definition of action Stringer, so I'll judge it as less than the other 3.

My under 16's like it having read the books and just discovering testosterone Jennifer Lawrence probably does it for them, like she probably would have done for me 20 years back.

Trying my best not to go get too political on a fun forum, ill leave it at the Feminist agenda often gets on my t*ts.

    Hunger games: Mockingjay Part 2:

On a rare date-night we decided to watch this instead of Spectre. Bad decision.

Boring & anti-climactic. Some decent action sequences but for too long, very little happens. I haven't read the books but saw the "twist" coming a mile off.

    4/10

Went this afternoon as my lads wanted to see it. They had both read the books so knew the plot and would probably rate it a 7/8.

More with you on the not enough action myself, though the sewer scene was worth a few "jumps". Might stretch it to a 5/10.
