Delighted for Liam. I think we made a mistake letting him go, and would have been stronger as a Club with him at the helm. Hope he can get a promotion on his CV although I have no affection whatsoever for Hull.
I’ve a mate who’s an Hull fan, from what he’s said, Liam has been doing a decent job, tactics not too different than with us, just a far younger team.
Their fans have warmed to him, so they should; good young coach.

Is Nuno really substantially different as a manager to Cooper? Feels like a completely sideways move.
Cooper was doing the best he could, Nuno, Pep or Klopp would struggle with those goalkeepers, lack of decent strikers; even the defence is meh for Prem standards.
This could be funny, the Greek will no doubt spend in January; fingers crossed Luton or Burnley can up their game and form enough.

Ok, explain to a dinosaur wtf is xG.
Wouldn’t worry Utch, just back, the simple facts of tonight.
We scored 1 more goal than Vale ever looked likely to, their keeper was their man of the match (tells you all you really need to know), we’re 6 points of the autos, so I reckon tonight was xtra good myself.
Parking reservations about Warne, ignoring Crewe, Rams on a roll and going up.

How many lifelines has Warne got left now
About as many as a 4 year contract for him and his staff buys, so get used to it for a good while longer.

Reckon if we all pretend he’s good Rotherham might buy him back?
Putting aside any debate about him being here, whilst he took Rotherham up 3 times, he took them down from the championship 3 times; being already in the championship I’d say they’ve more than tried that route.
Don't think I’d be tempted if I was their owner.

Derby 1-3 Crewe Alexandra
As things stand, Derby are heading out of the FA Cup in the first round for the first time in their history...ever.
That stat should be rammed home by local media to all concerned with the first team, coaching or players. Blown a second chance as it stands too.
Hugely disappointing.

Not that I want to get into a Martin debate……
Me neither but looking on the bright side if we go out now, we don’t have to either suffer him scoring against us next round or have even more sentimental torment for those pining for him to be here.

You can stop pissing about now Derby, I've cashed out my Crewe to win bet.
If you noticed Crewe only just above 2-1 to win now. Can get Evens on rams now, would’ve been a good bet to lay off at 14/1 😂

Awhh only just logged on to see this.
Stood next to him in the seats of course, at Watford a good few years ago and Charlton, B4 was just always so positive about getting a result.
This forum will have a small void without his posts, often passionate, sometimes funny, nearly always so positive.

Aside from our labours, thought the ref v Crewe didn’t “buy”any petty rolling around and did his best to let the game flow today.

Also seen one or two referencing “clownes”, this is also bang out of order. We owe him enormously. He’s just a fan like us who had the wherewithal to do what we would all do. Despite seemingly getting wrong with warne he’s still our saviour
Yes Bramcote, for all he may have got the wrong choice with Warne and some may harp back to Rosenoir being given more time; despite not liking what I’m seeing, I do understand why he went for a guy that’s had 3 promotion!
Unfortunately it not working, but those with short memories should remember what David Clowes did for this club, when others were doing nothing.

We’re both playing the same type of football, they’re just better at it. What a sad day in the history of this club.
Sums up my feelings. Normally I’m upbeat but spending less time looking in because everything about our club is so depressing.
Just can’t see what Warne is trying to do, everything about his lost match comments on radio Derby says we’re going to chop and change again. He clearly doesn’t know how to get a tune out of this squad and half of them are his players.
Utterly depressing watching our team right, just feels like it’s going to be a long season, that will ultimately end in disappointment. Can’t see any real progress under Warne. That’s the real sad bit.

Exactly that. He’d led us well through adversity but he needs good football coaches and tacticians around him.
I spoke to a Brum STH today and he said they were shocking and clueless. He said it looked like the players weren’t trying for him. Oh well eh!!
2 mates of mine, one supporting each side went to the game together. Both said Hull played out from the back consistently, Birmingham tried to at times but often faltered. Both agreed objectively this is what happens when you change a winning formula, compared to one that’s been slowly building since last season.
Rooney will struggle as the team were playing well for Eustace by all accounts. My Hull mate said to be honest, early on this season there were still quite a few doubters about Rosenoir, he’d got a lower bar to climb, but he’s slowly winning a fair number round. Rooney on the other hand has huge expectations, more so given where they were in the league.
I’d told them Rooney was right for us in a crisis, he shouldered a lot and united everyone but he’s already seeing cracks as he’s replaced a likeable manager. He’s going to get found out without Rosenoir in my opinion, as the latter was more the tactician.

The referee was pretty good tonight, all the bookings were fair and just, he let the game flowed as much as he could; though rightly Waggy chided him for getting in his way.

Lost in the scrum giving penalties away
Said to my lad from 56 minutes the boks plan was to destroy us by the scrum; so close to a huge upset really and tactically spot on.
Defence was brilliant but their scrum was just brutally stronger.
Huge credit to England, never expected that game, shame it was so close.

Eustace gets a payout and his reputation well and truly in tact. He will probably end up at Rangers where expectation is high, but if you do an above average job there you’ve got a direct pathway into a good Premier League job.
Meanwhile Birmingham have a pretty expensive risk which only really pays off if they get promoted. Rooney is a bigger name than Birmingham, like he was with us. He knows that whatever he does there will still result with him getting another job pretty soon afterwards any way.
Looks likely that everyone is a winner in this situation except Birmingham City. Which is a real shame…
Birmingham seem to have got lucky with their new ownership group. Eustace as you say leaves with reputation more than firmly intact, I’d say considerably enhanced. They were a basket case when he stepped in.
Eustace is the sort of coach I’d love to see at Derby one day. Talks very measured too if you listen to his press soundbites.

Sibbo isn't our Greek god laid low, but he's got more firepower and creativity in his little toe than Washington. He needs a run of games in the no.10 position with the freedom to run with the ball, be creative with it, take risks and have runners around him to open up that space.
Exactly this and why I bumped the thread.
Forget playing him wing back, give the lad more than 1 chance against Carlisle to shine. He bleeds Derby, is desperate to do well, which is why he’ll play anywhere but it’s done him no favours as he’s not playing his best position.
If Warne doesn’t do that, he may as well sell him, not that Sibbo will want to go; just he’ll have no choice. Meantime we have nobody unlocking defences most games, but plenty that gas out 🙄
-
So we need goals and Sibley getting little game time.
Does Warne rate him? Does Warne want him gone? Know he’s coming back from injury but can’t get minutes in a stalemate against the club bottom of the table. Really, I mean really?!

Oh god, Sonny Bradley on and three at the back.
Calamity incoming
Hope you noticed him win every subsequent header that came into the box? Maybe another confidence boost he needs
Not calling you out, he’s looked poor, probably because he’s rusty from the lack of games last year, but these little cameos at the end of the game are helping. If Curtis Davis had been coming on last season in similar circumstances, most fans would’ve said smart move.
With time, he may look a rock solid performer at this level and he’s starting to show his credentials in snippets; just need to be aware of his lack of pace. -

4 wins from 5 away from home is outstanding for balance , but feel like in our next home game vs Exeter I think it is we need a change of approach and mentality to ensure we are as effective going forward when we have to build from deep and don't have space in behind. Found it worrying Warne thought Saturday was a good performance and Radio Derby agreed, when we play at home our midfield need to take more responsibility and risk and we need to put less balls from deep into the box not more and play more savy going forwards.
Sort of agree with this. We get more space away, as teams come at us and it’s easier to counter attack and open them up; the 3rd goal being prime example.
The level of negativity pre game was a bit poor on here, some should at least give Warne and the team a chance; the fans h there did.
He’s got to go a long way to win me over, but aside from riding our luck with the cross bar at 2-1, tonight was a more than decent performance. Maybe you’re right, we need to draw. teams onto at home, as away were clearly effective on the counter.
How can we finish in the top 2?

Add to that, really hope we can keep Cashin, him and Nelson are rock solid at the back.
