I dunno - I saw it the same as Jram in that it looked a bit more than that. It had a look of 'au revoir' about it for me.

Unless he goes for £3m (which transforms our summer signings (but is unlikely)) I sincerely hope we keep him. Proper grafter.

Same. If he’s pragmatic though, he’d want a move to a championship team, that on paper might challenge for promotion, purely for his own career prospects. Nobody should be begrudge him that, up to us to get the maximum fee we can!

Warne has said before, he won’t keep unhappy players, if you were Knight and interest appears, you would want to play higher; which given his full international career, he’s likely to attract attention.

Happy to be wrong but like Bielik, I think both will be off the books before the start of the season.

    Positives:

    • We'd have probably had more heartbreak in the play offs anyway if we'd have made them judging by our recent play off history, form of late and away results against the better teams in the league.
    • Not sure about anyone else, but I've quite enjoyed League 1.
    • We'd have had it very hard if we somehow got promoted with us still being under EFL restrictions for another year.

    Negatives:

    • We're even more likely to lose the likes of Cashin, Knight, Bird, McGoldrick and others now.
    • ANOTHER SEASON OF LEAGUE 1 REFS.

McGoldrick will stay, Bird most likely too, he’s not been anywhere near consistent throughout the season; maybe if we don’t go up next year he’ll go. The rest will be the old players leaving.

Seems a shame to say this but we probably need to be a lot more streetwise next season... maybe take Ipswich as our blueprint in more ways than one!

Next season we simply need to take more chances.

Defensively we are at this level ok, maybe a fitter Centre half or two, but overall fine with a good goalkeeper.

We need someone else up top, we can’t rely on McGoldrick scoring all the time, let alone staying fit. That’s got to be the priority problem to overcome close season.

Sick of hearing that it's the refs costing us, it isn't! It's the schoolboy mistakes, without that dreadful back pass the penalty etc doesn't happen

Exactly this, people venting frustration elsewhere are just plain wrong..truth hurts, but truth is an ageing defender made a mistake.

The Efl will lose their power as a regulator.

This is the bit about the deal I don’t get, from any figures quoted, it’s difficult for the ordinary fan to make a true value judgement, as we only ever find out retrospectively what it means to our clubs.

Instead many regular stadium attending fans, have to suffer kick off times changing, which could discourage season ticket tickets sales. So you would think given the noise around government fan led reviews, the football authorities would want to be squeaky clean in having the fan’s interest at heart.

500k basic and another 2.5 mill if they stay up, for 4 games.  Footballs gone insane.

Desperate times, last roll of the dice to protect their asset from a huge value drop.

Football has long been insane, totally different but similar in many ways, reading the other week about how the salary cap was going affect Exeter chiefs and how their golden generation was going to break up; rugby is trying to learn from all the mistakes football makes and keeps making.

The King, Zak, yet we had a song fit for a King.......Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, born is the King of Derby.......

We might have called him a king but his throne was the North Bank. Met him twice now, each time mentioning the Rams, it gives him a chance to talk something other than the gooners in the old days; there’s a twinkle in his eyes when he does.

    Take a bow son

Occasionally I flick on the Snooker and happened to do so half way through that frame; getting position for the final red and potting was incredible, knew he’d do it after that.

    Also Brecel is some player

I’d seen a bit of the match with Ronnie, he effectively blew him away. Can’t believe he’d never won at the Crucible before.

I thought I'd bump this, as we were talking about attendances before the season started.

Most people under-estimating where we would be, both in terms of attendances and season-ticket sales. You can see who our resident pessimists are!

(Sorry for some of us derailing it with cricket talk! 🏏)

But we've done so well, better than even B4 predicted!

Careful. Attendance debates border on Willy waving @angieram 😂

One thing most of us knew, we are a football city, county, with a far reaching support, this club will always have a solid fan base. Can’t wait for the atmosphere and game today myself; exciting isn’t it.

He's that bloke on a stag do 500 miles from home you start talking to and don't know.  By the time your 10 minutes into conversation you know you've made a mistake and he's going to bore you to death for the next two days.  Sun starved and fun starved the only reason he's there is he's the brides cousin and she'd like him to get out his mothers spare room more. You'll try and get away but then you here the immortal words' I'll get the next one' and he's your limpet for the next 48 hrs.  The only escape from the nightmare is total alcohol obliteration to numb the pain.  At some point he'll engage some locals in an ill fated discussion about football and start talking about the world famous Nott's Forest, mentioning players names and Garibaldi as they Blankley stare at him and wander off.    Now you both look like Bamfords and the only hope is that he won't bother coming to anywhere that's open after midnight as he's never 'been into nightclubs'  as he find's loud music and girls scary and promised to call mummy to check in.

You must’ve suffered a really bad stag do at some point in your life 😂

Anyway, back to the Gumps, we’ll see how they crack off in London Saturday with their injuries they must only have 2 teams to choose from now; I’m more interested in our match but no doubt our resident lonely WUM, will find 50p for his leccy, if they win and/or we lose.

At one stage I thought this MP was ok for speaking up for Derby in our dark days. I was wrong. Just seen his comments about covid and the holocaust. What a complete ar@e. I am no fan of the tories but well done Sunak for booting him out.

He’s always been a bit toxic or marmite, depending how kind you want to be in describing his views. The power of google will tell you plenty.

He’s definitely opinionated and like you, I felt he stood up well for us in truth. He’s always been local to South Derbyshire, I know some in his former family business and I’ve seen him locally a few times, be it pubs or events; for many reasons I doubt he’ll win at the next election if he stands as an independent. He certainly put me off my pint once.

Big win even better as Pboro lost. Roberts was MOM for me followed by Sibley & McG .

Definitely agree. Roberts got on to a lot of loose balls, snuffed every danger out near him. Sibley once we started playing the ball in front of him, was running anthem and creating chances. McG could easily have had an hat trick. Can’t criticise his finishing though, as he created so many chances, other strikers wouldn’t have done.

    This game is bonkers 😆

Mental from Saints, does neither much good but those last 2 goals could knock the stuffing out of Southampton!

If they had won it would’ve been a real momentum and confidence builder; they’re going to be heartbroken now.

  14. Absolutely hope we smash Burton, highly unlikely, so I’ll just settle for a win.

Burton used to be like a 2nd team, like a few Derby fans in the past, i’d watch them if the Rams were playing miles away or had no game BUT my kids, going to school in Burton summed up the rivalry now; ever since the Brewers made the championship, a few younger fans started going and forgot are friendlier past, trying to create a rivalry that just isn’t there for most Rams fans.

Burton have a good chairman, they’ve been well run but some of their new generation of fans deserve to be labelled tin pot. So now, just like my lads I hope we put them down a few pegs.

Sadly, man utd have picked up a few injuries and now their Euro tie is delicately poised may decide they can take a chance against forest with a weaker team

I can see another scabby 1-0 to the home team a la Liverpool, with about 18% possession and 1 attempt on goal ...🙄

He of little faith, this is Forest they managed more than 1 shot and 30% possession but still had Navas as their best player 😉

Now the real interesting stat is next week, how many goals away have they scored as they head to Anfield 🤣
