  1. It was starting to get a bit nervy with the US dominating the middle of the singles but Fleetwood has just guaranteed 1/2pt to win the Ryder Cup 🏆

I wonder if the Yanks ever review their performance and come to the conclusion that if they ever worked on their team spirit they'd probably win every one...

*And now Lowry has guaranteed at least 1/2pt.  Who is going to get the chance to sink the winning putt.

Actually think this was a step in the right direction. We played some football this time and only one team could realistically win it based on how the game was played. Much more control and finally a game when we ran the show.

A bit better in the final third and we would be a decent team if we keep playing like this. Cambridge created as much as I expect almost any team in this division should be able to create att PP. COYR

Unless you're vehemently Warne out I think thats a fair assessment.

Thats another clean sheet, another game in which the opposition hasn't laid a glove on us. We were set up well, put in the effort and controlled the match.

On the other hand, crossing, corners and free-kicks were awful - how many times did we hit the first man?  Subs maybe a bit too late but immediately prior to that we created 2 good chances.

The amount of goals we are scoring is a concern but I'm not too sure what we can do about that without spending a lot of money.

Clowes has gone for Warnes experience in Div 1 and it could work if the fans remain patient and I hear “well we won’t stay up with Warne”well he’ll have more money then to give it a go .

I can’t see the point in moaning about style of Football at this stage in the season as we have had injuries but like I say the season starts now for me with us in a challenging position

We've had an underwhelming start to the season but if we win our game in hand we'll still be in the play-offs.

Any sort of run between now and Christmas and we'll be right up there heading into the January transfer window - an attractive proposition for players and unlike last year with a bit of cash to burn.

I'm quietly confident this could yet be a good season.

i'll put it out there, our 11 point record could go this season. too many contenders

Well theres 3 teams with 1pt from 5 games, if they were to carry on at that ppg ratio for the entire season they won't even make double figures.

Of course a lot can change and it is really difficult not to limp over the 11pt line over the course of a season, but this could be the best chance we have of someone taking our record for a long time 🤞

  5. Having moved away from the area I no longer have a season ticket 😞  RamsTV (audio) and Ed Dawes are now an essential part of my matchday experience.  I enjoy his commentary and the banter they all seem to have together.  Its not quite the same when someone else is doing the commentary.

Hope he's feeling better and back commentating soon.

ZX81, spectrum, Dragon, Atari ST, more PCs and upgrades than I want to admit to.

Still an avid gamer at 74 just different games these days.

I've grown up with computers, playing computer games is as natural to me as watching tv - more so tbh, as I'd much rather play a good computer game than zone out on the sofa in front of the tv.

As you say, the games you play mature as you get older but thats probably because I can no longer compete with kids 30 years younger than me now a days.  If I want to be good at something I have to pick a game that requires grey matter rather than godly reflexes!

Spectrum 48k. If you were rich you had the 128k with a built in tape deck. Paperboy was the game to have on this system.

I had a zx81 first, then a 48k Spectrum (as pictured), followed by a 128k Spectrum then an Amiga 500 before moving onto consoles and PCs.

The 48k Spectrum was the favourite of my retro gaming days - loads of great games for its time.

Do you recall listening to the god awful screeching loading sound for 5 mins, all the way to the end of the loading time only for it to fail?  Then adjusting the tone/volume dials slightly hoping it would work the next time.  Happy days 😛

What baffled me was that RB said in his video that pre-empted the expose that there were "witnesses" who could disprove the allegations

Not being funny but doesn't that suggest there was someone else in the room when he had sex with these girls??

#metoo wasn't a conspiracy whereby innocent men were wrongly accused... It was the civil movement that finally outed Harvey Weinstein and other prolific and well-known predators who'd previously been able to escape accountability, so not entirely sure the point you're making there.

I know that a lot of predators were outed, but a lot of innocent people were caught up in it as well.

The point I'm making is we can't have trial by media as the arbiter of justice.

Ultimately, how can you prove someone innocent or guilty in a 'he said, she said' situation within the current legal confines of the system? Add onto that, the startlingly low conviction rates actually now deter victims from reporting crimes, because what's the point? Invasive tests, just to watch justice not be served... That's traumatising in an entirely different way.

Therein lies the inherent problem with rape cases - in a lot of cases its he said/she said.  Do we just #believeallwomen and if some innocent men get thrown in jail and have their lives ruined think its a price worth paying?  Or would you want the allegations testing thoroughly if they were made against you or your son?

I used to be a moron on this topic too, until I actually read up properly and developed an educated opinion. I'll happily retain the stance that if you base moral opinion upon the criminal verdict from an utterly broken system, you're a moron.

Far clever people than me have thought long and hard about how to increase the chances of putting real rapists behind bars.  I have no answers.  But I do know you can't rely on trial by media and most agree that the #metoo movement went too far.

  10. Whilst I would agree that the current judicial system isn't the best, we can't have trial by media and everyone has to be assumed innocent until proven guilty.  Nice to see those that believe that in this thread being called out as morons 🫤

Whilst I've never cared for Russell Brand, a self confessed womanizer, narcissist and all round general t**t imo, until these accusations are submitted to the Police and have been investigated thoroughly, it could just be seen as another #metoo moment in which lots of men were wrongly accused.

FWIW, if he is found guilty then I hope he spends a long time in prison.  If not, I'd question why this was plastered all over the media and immediately twisted into another left vs right argument.  Everything these days is so divisive - there can be no nuance.

Finally, that Enliven Project graph has been around a long time was heavily criticized at the time.  Even the author admitted errors in the graph and it was to be used more as a 'conversation starter'.
