  1. Pinched from the Wigan forum.

Just shows appearances can be deceiving...before the game i looked down at their number 6 and commented " who's that dumpy little fu**er ?"... well I looked up his name after the match..E. Cashin...no me neither. What a game that lad had, never missed a header or tackle. Absolute mom by a mile and just shows not to judge a book and all that.

    £1m, £15k per week, 2.5 years, yes.

    Posh Chairman MacAnthony

He said, 'what would it take to do a deal' and I went, 'it would take this.' The deal was about £800,000 plus £250,000 in achieveable add-ons, promotion, goals bonus.

After negotiations between the two clubs accelerated, a fee of £800,000 plus performance-based add-ons was eventually agreed.

  3. Pinched from Friday’s local paper.

Bristol Rovers no longer interested in Jonson Clarke-Harris, but other League One clubs are.

Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has confirmed League One rivals Bristol Rovers are no longer interested in signing Jonson Clarke-Harris in January.

But Fry, the transfer guru at the Weston Homes Stadiums, says two other League One clubs are interested in taking the 29 year-old double Golden Boot winner. Neither are thought to be promotion rivals of Posh.

Fry said: “I’ve spoken to the Bristol Rovers owner and he said Joey Barton was the man behind trying to sign Clarke-Harris. The new manager is not interested so they won’t be coming back for him.

"But two other League One clubs are interested so hopefully Jonno will get the move he deserves. He’s been brilliant for us.”

…….thirteen matches since he started, out of contract in the summer, sounds a bit desperate from Barry.

  4. It’s that time of year again folks, mince pies, egg nog, tubs of twiglets and January transfer rumours regarding Lee Gregory.

…………………only thing that’s changed is that he is now 35!

Derby County ‘may well’ consider making a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Lee Gregory in January, as detailed in a report by The Star.

I'm a reasonably diplomatic, boring, steady middle aged bloke.

I'm reasonably well educated and can write reasonably well so try to choose words on this forum that express an opinion that may be different to others, without deliberately causing offence. I certainly don't have 'poor writing' or 'poor vocabulary' as anything like an excuse if I were to cause offence.........but, without being patronising, I do understand not all so-called offensive posts are intended to be offensive.

However, it's apparent that I'm not alone in finding it tiresome that almost every single thread deteriorates into a game of point scoring, oneupmanship and, increasingly, forum archeology, in order to be unpleasant to one another.

There seems to be, in equal measure, deliberate attempts to cause offence and seek offence and it's just not great reading. I'm not in the slightest bit supportive of closing down debates or censoring differences of opinion but the number of personal spats with unpleasant language is getting beyond a joke.

I can't blame the mods because, individually, most of these posts fall below the threshold of complaint but, collectively, they make this forum so much worse than it could be.

I came to this forum for camaraderie when we nearly went under as a club - and it was a source of great comfort, information and humour.

It's got to the point where I'm considering signing off and and using the Telegraph and Radio Derby as my main non-matchday links - they have limitations but they are civil.

Any ideas what we can do?

I get where you’re coming from Mr Bat, but,  I find the vast majority on here are “sound as a pound”.

I watched Ian Buxton play for Derby County & Derbyshire.…wish I was “middle aged” 👍🐏

We're going to sign the second best right back in Mongloia aren't we?

Seriously though, it'll be interesting to see what Warnes ... foreign policy is like, along side our recruitment team. Let's face it apart from the odd outlier we've not really recruited effectively from abroad since Jim Smith. Even then we remember the Igors, Biainios, Eranios and less so the Bragstads, Ploppys, and Grenets; we are less certain if they can adapt to English leagues so although cheaper the present more of a risk and I dont know unless we get taken over by some Robert Lindsey, Tracey Shaw, Keiran Lee, and Naill Horan led consortium if we'd be able afford taking such risks.

Just the mention of Bragstad and Grenet has started me twitch off again! 👍🐏

Jim am I right in thinking on Sky means not an ramstv?

    Domestic Streaming

From the 2024/25 season onward, this agreement makes more matches available to stream and will effectively replace the current Sky Sports EFL red button coverage and the EFL's domestic streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services. Domestic streaming audio services will remain alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences via iFollow and club streaming services.

“international audiences”……..perhaps Owen B could throw a bit of light on what’s happening. 👍
