Of course Warne would rather have Clarke-Harris.

But there's not a chance that Peterborough would sell him to anyone for less than £2 million. Let alone to a rival.

I'd imagine nobody in League One can afford JCH. Probably a lot of Champ teams too. (I'm sure I read WBA were linked with a £4 Millon move)

Probably the reason he hasn't gone anywhere yet.

To quote Posh manager Darren Ferguson.

“If someone did bid £5 million for Jonno – and I’m not for one minute saying that someone has – he’d be sold.”

    Sunderland enquired in January…………………..😯

Perhaps the players haven't got the hang of Warneball yet. In the interview post Salford match he said something about playing the ball across the back three and how it was pointless if not done quickly. And during the game sometimes we did and other times not. Maybe they've not got the hang of it yet, we shall see.

Yep,……………….let’s cut out the middle man! 😁👍

  3. Pinched from the Huddersfield forum regards Rhodes.

Hopefully he gets a decent L1 club that plays two up front and he can start banging them in again. He's looked decent for us even playing as a loan striker but asking him to tear around up front on his own just doesn't play to his strengths. Be good to see him scoring again at the right club. Scored some vital goals for us in his second spell.

    …………………………………..seems a fair comment. 👍🐏

Looks like they're wearing a cheap flimsy lanyard that is blowing about in the wind.
Coupled with all the haphazard lines/pattern, it's far too messy for my liking!  Give me symmetry any day!

You want symmetry, Umbro Boston away kit…………………I like it.👍IMG_1287.thumb.jpeg.d459d6a38e108c40a0b74e3bd20966b8.jpeg

I started looking into strikers who had a lot of early promise, but as of yet haven’t hit the ground running in senior football. One name caught my eye - Tyreece John-Jules.

A good size, athletically impressive but with the football ability to match. He started well for Ipswich last season, well liked by their fans, but injuries really cost him his chance of developing further. Now, there are rumours that he may join them permanently but I’d like to think we could jump in and offer him a more immediate route to regular football.

No idea what Arsenal want, but would assume he’s cheap and available. He’s in the last year of his contract and now wants somewhere to settle - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/22461118/arsenal-transfer-news-tyreece-john-jules-ipswich/

In terms of value and upside, I doubt there will be many better options available to us this summer in that position.

Seems obviously cheesed off from continuous loans.
Like you say ex clubs supporters and managers seem to like the lad so it is rather surprising how nobody’s been interested in signing him permanently.

Anyway, I read an article in the East Anglia Times taken from the Beautiful Game Podcast, seems to sum up his career so far.

Since I was 17/18, every season I've had a big injury.

I played one game at Sheffield Wednesday. I came on and in the first two minutes I got injured (quad).

At Ipswich I had back-to-back injuries (hamstring and quad). I missed six months of the season, so it's be tough to say the least.

The second injury came on the last day of my hamstring rehab. The next day I had been due to train with the team.

When that happened my head was gone. I didn't know what to do. Thankfully my family were there to pick me up.

It's been bad. All the time questioning myself. 'What am I doing wrong?' 'What do I need to change?'

This can't keep happening. I can't keep having month after month of not playing.

    Shame really……………wish him well.

  6. I’d rather take his mate that 19 year old Portuguese lad who scored a hat trick for Man City against us in that Pappa Johns thingy last season Carlos Borges.

I’ll wait for G of C to find his goal scoring figures, gotta feeling they must be pretty good.👍

I would take him all day. Always liked him.

Not sure of his fitness. Belive he was playing in Turkey ( could be wrong ) but if he wanted and wasn't on stupid wages the trial defo.

Assombalonga released by a Turkish club by “mutual consent” last year.

Signed a six month contract in January with his original club Watford, contract not extended so he’s a free agent that seems to be on no one’s radar.

Works his socks off and a decent finisher…………………….its gotta be Godden hopefully.

  8. The good old half turn left and right “doggies”!

Word at the time ( many years ago) was that the best exponent of this pre season lung buster was no other than a certain Derek Hales!

I understand your point - but I didn't say they wouldn't be involved, but it would be separate.

I think it is right they are involved as the 'biggest' and longest standing official SG.

I was just replying to your comment regards the Supporters Board being independent from those groups who already have a voice within the club.

I was just expecting the constitution to be a little more …………………radical.👍

    My 2p...

I'm happy this will sit separate from the SCG and, by extension, RamsTrust. I've nothing against RT - I'm indeed a member FWIW - but for the sake of the hate sent in their direction, the Supporters Board really needs to be independent of that.

The club has a difficult job on its hands in sifting through what I'm sure will be a very popular application process - but putting it in the hands of the FSA aswell should avoid any accusations of planting stooges in there...

Overall, this looks very well planned so far. Would this have happened under He Who Should Not Be Named? No.

Not quite sure about the non involvement of RT & SCG
RamsTrust are guaranteed one place. Members of SCG guaranteed 2 places.

In line with the FSA’s recommendations, it is proposed that the SB consists of six members, constituted as follows:

1 x member from Rams Trust as the official supporter group focussed on governance issues (as per guidance in the White Paper).

2 x existing members from the groups that make up the SCG which meet (or plan to meet) FSA core principles.

    3 x independent members

It is proposed that the three independent members of the SB be selected on an application process, against an agreed role specification (to be agreed with the final selection to be made by a three-person panel consisting of:

1 x DCFC representative (likely to be a board member)

    1 x FSA representative

1 x independent local person of standing (business/local government etc

He was out of contract so moved on a free.  Not sure if any compensation was paid as he didn’t come through FGR’s youth system but there won’t be a sell-on clause.

    Pinched from elsewhere.

Bristol City had to pay £100,000 in compensation to Forest Green Rovers last summer, despite signing Wilson on a free transfer, and would be keen to at least recoup some money for the 23-year-old.

Wilson was limited to just seven matches in what seems to be his first and final year at Ashton Gate. He didn’t start any Championship games and only came on as a substitute. He suffered a knee injury in October which took months to recover from, but even after recovering from injury, he was excluded from the squad for the last six games of the season.

  12. Pinched from Coventry Live.

    Dated yesterday.

Coventry City 'hope to complete' transfer of Sheffield United legend.

Coventry will hope to win the race after coming so close to promotion last season, but Rotherham's proximity to Sheffield could sway his decision. Derby could swoop if the player is willing to drop into League One, but he has already publicly spoken about his disdain for the Rams.

"I wish I could play against them every week," he told SUTV after scoring a 90th minute winner against Derby two years ago?

"I think their fans were disrespectful to me today. I don't mind stick but if they're going to give me that all game, they deserve that back.

"I'm delighted I scored against them because I don't like them."

Nixon adds that Derby are interested in signing Coventry striker Matty Godden if the Sky Blues get Sharp.

One last Championship payday for a 37 year old…………….he won’t be coming here.

  13. Taken from Warne’s interview after the Matlock game regarding the week in Spain.

“I look forward to the week, it looks like it’s reasonably hot, so If you’re a Derby fan going out, have a great time, you’re more than welcome to join in the seven o clock runs.”

    …………anyone taking up the offer?😃👍

  14. The story so far.

Well the back 6 is sorted

Gotta play two up front in this league, so that’s Collins and Washington.

Then perm any three from Smith, Bird, Hourihane, Sibley, Knight, Barkhuizen, Thomson & Mendez-Laing.

Personally, Smith in front the back three, Sibley & Hourihane behind the front two.

                                                           Wildsmith.

                                Nelson.                 Bradley.               Cashin.

              Ward.                                       Smith                                  Elder.

                                   Sibley                                           Hourihane

                                              Collins           Washington

…………………….enough to get out of this league already. 😃👍

Branko Strupar ? , yep liked Willems a lot although slightly underwhelmed when we signed him he was a clever player

I also remember being underwhelmed when signing Mikkel Beck and .......was one of our worst signings... to put it mildly lol !!

Not as bad as Bjørn Otto Bragstad…..there were local lads playing down the Racecourse who were better then him! 👍

Think thats the point… now is too early

6 games into the season is too early

xmas is my benchmark as to how the recruitment has gone

teams need to gel… those with short memories or not old enough to remember jim smiths promotion season will remember we didnt get going til we finally beat southend at home on that cold wet tuesday night at the bbg

going to have to be patient people

    Jim Smiths promotion season.

The Southend win was the seventh match, the eighth match was a 2-2 draw with Pompey and was the last match that John Harkes ever wore a Rams shirt.

  17. The Manageress, ………..Channel 4 1989-1990

A woman takes over as the manager of a football team.

Benson seeks to update the diets of her players, much to their dismay and disbelief, introducing an approach to “refuelling “ that had more to do with continental expertise, than fish and chips and twenty Woodbine.

Years before Arsene Wenger and his boiled chicken n pasta theory!😃

  18. The Dale Vince vanity project rolls on!

Forest Green Rovers (FGR), the world’s greenest football club, today announced a new partnership with Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award-winning rock band the Grateful Dead.

The partnership will see the entire men’s first team at FGR kitted out with co-branded travel wear for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

…………...personally, I’d prefer The Clash we are DCFC.😃

  19. According to a couple of local rags and forums Joey Barton has entered the building!

Bristol Rovers did probably rely heavily on Collins last season, so it makes sense for the club to be searching for a new striker, and if they can work out a deal, this could be one of the signings of the summer in League One.”
