Is that an actual "pea mix" (I think the term was), as described in other threads?
An absolute thing of beauty. 😍
Around here you ask for a pea mix and they look at ya gone out!

Apparently it was Blackburns Harry Leonard who was all lined up on transfer day to boost our forward options along with Collins.
Anyway, pinched yesterday from elsewhere.
Harry Leonard has missed the last two matches through injury which was described as a 'knock' by Eustace at the weekend.
However, the striker took to Instagram to suggest he would be out for an extended period of time.
He wrote: "Gutted to hear I'm going to be out for a while. I'll do everything to come back stronger."
Eustace revealed that the young striker has suffered back injury but he's hopeful it won't be too serious. Leonard is still set for a number of weeks on the sidelines, though.
……….funny old game football.👍🐏

Saturday match, my house at 10.45, bus to Spalding, 11.23 to Derby ( change at P/boro & Leicester) arriving at Derby 13.27. ….17.50 from Derby to Spalding (change at Nottingham & Sleaford) arriving at 20.27 and all for just £33, then home for a chippy supper at 9 o’clock.
Midweek, no chance……….A16/A52 👍😁

Posted my expected starting line up for Saturday earlier on today, then realised that we’d have an outfield bench of Ward, Wilson, Sibley, Hourihane, Blacket-Taylor and Gayle.
We’re never going to have a better chance over the next 13 games of getting out of this dire league! 👍🐏

Reckon we’ll set up for a massive 0-0 boring draw……and I’d be happy with that.
I’ve completely given up on let’s play thro midfield, wing backs bombing on, three up front and using a couple of out and out wingers.
We’re now at the Buisness end of the season, blood, sweat and taking one for the team is what it’s all about…..and a swarm of subs around the 70 minute mark!

I'm not sure your age rich, But there was a time in the 70s when we'd paint the outside of the rubber sole, I did my cherry red Docs in yellow paint, That night I put them on and I looked the bees knees, Walked across Chadd Park to my local...got to the bar and It looked like I'd gone trekking in the Amazon, Paint was still tacky and the Council had cut the grass on the Park...fcuk me 😬
Turps and a rag did the job but had to keep them outside near the coal shed to get rid of the turps smell 😮
Chadd Park Hotel?……..went all upmarket as the Beau Brummell. 😁

I still think that if it’s three at the back then Wilson & Sibley have to be the wing backs.
I still think that if it’s a back four then Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin & Elder start.
I still think that if you include Blackett-Taylor then you have to play a front three.
I still think that it should be a midfield three of Adams Smith & Bird at Barnsley.
I still think that while we’re winning………………….sod it! 👍😁

Off topic, but at the rate the pitch at PP is deteriorating, we'll be able to rename the stadium back to the BBG soon.

Yes especially if it means we aren’t wasting NML. Plus it’s not like I’m suggesting some melt from the national league. These are proven professionals at this level.
Dwight Gayle League appearances
2023/24 season 0 goals in 10 games
2022/23 season 3 goals in 35 games
2021/22 season 0 goals in 8 games.
2020/21 season 1 goal in 18 games.
2019/20 season 4 goals in 20 games.
Five years, 8 goals, 91 games.
Personally I’d probably prefer the “melt from the national league” 👍🐏

The match was heavily influenced by the ref's THREE BIG mistakes, who's knows what the game would have turned out like?
He missed the early blatant handball for a penalty, that would have changed how the game panned out from an early stage. Hourihane's goal would have put us 2 up, putting a different complexion on the game. Then you factor in Wildsmith wrongly getting sent off with half the match remaining and then their winning goal from a penalty for a foul clearly outside the penalty area.
Had the ref done his job properly, you would think that the match would have panned out quite differently, in terms of style, statistics and probably result also. If ever there was a match that should be replayed, this was it. Had it been a draw we would be 4 points ahead of them now and if we had won the gap would be 7 points. I can't help but fear that the result of that ref's actions will cost us at the end of the season.
Charles Breakspear was in action last night at Newport.
In his previous 8 matches he’d dished out an amazing 53 yellow, and 5 red cards.
Last night at Newport v Notts County nothing, zilch, zero!
Thinks someone may have had a word about all the bloody paperwork!

Some of our defending last night was very impressive and should be appreciated in the same way as good offensive moves. Sadly, it seldom is.
It is by this grizzled “old school” defender! 😁
Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin & Elder are the strongest back four in this League and can get us promoted out of this division.
……………..…just a few words about Elder, really begining to look the part, thought he was excellent last night.👍🐏

Pinched from the Exeter forum.
I'm normally annoyed when we lose or get hammered but not today. Derby are a level above. They'll do really well next year in the championship. We just cannot compete. I assume players like Hourihane will be on more £ a week than our entire squad put together.

Didn’t work Saturday. Never will.
Even if Ward or Sibley get into wide areas, who can they cross it to?
Collins on his own against two defenders or NML who can’t head it?
Need to go 4-3-3 and let them worry about us.
Two central defenders is enough at this level. Three get in each other’s space.
Exeter lined up with three at the back against Wigan.
Sweeney, Diabate & Jules in a 6’1”, 6’2”, 6’3” formation!
……………..I do hope we’ve got a bloody good plan B. 👍🐏

Really?
He didn’t look keen when he played - even though he’s not played for us yet?
Warne suggested he hadn’t trained well. Maybe Warne meant because of his injury rather than attitude?
He couldn’t have been more lacklustre in his half time warm up. - I can’t say that I noticed and maybe that’s just the way he always is. I’ve never seen him warming up before.
I sincerely hope you’re wrong otherwise it could be the shortest time ever we’ve taken against a player (justified or not). He’s only been here just over a week.
Started against Cheltenham, subbed after an hour. Those stalwarts of the player ratings thread gave him a score ranging from 3 to 6 with a mode average of 4.
Signed on the 22nd of January, now in his fourth week at the club.
We spend time chasing and signing an out and out winger with a good reputation at this level throughout this league when playing in a front three, once signed we move to playing two up front.
……………no wonder the kid looks cheesed off.
