January Reinforcements

I think is an absolute no brainer if is possible. Have several players out of contract at end of season, we can then look past the over 30s who are not great.

Likewise for me. Come the end of January we have Waghorn at 34, Collins at 33. At the end of season, Washington is 32, Mendez Laing is 32, Barkhuizen is 31. Non attackers, Hourihane and Smith will both be 33 come February.

Clarke Harris turns 30 in the summer, even if we go up and proves ineffective, the next big team going down to League One will surely be interested so we recoup the outlay or more.

Another option could be Niall Ellis, signed for Blackburn in the summer, so far he hasn't started a game and only come on 5 times for 112 minutes of playing time. 24 years old, scored 14 in 45 last season for Plymouth.

Others could be Mallik Wilks at Wednesday, hasn't done it for them this season (0 starts, 4 sub appearances of 95 minutes) or last but could just be the wrong club/environment for him like Wilson at Bristol City. Previously scored 19 in 44 in League One for Hull 20/21 season and 14 goals in 48 for Doncaster in League One back in 18/19. Bad couple of years at Wednesday but he's only 24 still, plenty of potential surely.

How dare you. The Knighted Socialist will be getting my Laser focused mission driven vote.

They're all a bunch of c**ts. Comes to something when the only one you're 100% sure of their position is f***ing Farage. And no, the only vote of mine he'll be getting is the one that'll end up with him having to scoff Kangaroo bollox.

Are you referencing the FA Cup performance, your Bigtrav episode or the 532 experiment ?

Big Trav has gone a bit quiet of late 😉, shame about the FA Cup, seems unimaginable that we won’t be in the 3rd round draw 🥲, stand by my view we should have given Liam more time. Not sure what else could be deemed a total shambles, can you Hints 🤣

Would it have been worth keeping Bielik instead of selling him for peanuts? I know he doesn't want league one football for international reasons, but I'd not really give a toss about that if he was under contract to us. He'd solve a massive problem for us at the moment.

I know that it's likely his wages that was the reason we got rid, I just wish we hadn't.

His wages would have absolutely crippled us financially, there was no way it would be feasible.

The upcoming January transfer window presents an opportunity for our club to make a strong push to sign Jonson Clarke-Harris from Peterborough United, potentially hijacking Bristol Rovers' pursuit of the striker. Clarke-Harris has a proven track record in League One, having scored 26 goals in 36 appearances for Peterborough last season and over 30 goals in the 2020-21 season. While he has had a slower start this season with four goals in 14 appearances, his past performance at the League One level makes him a compelling target for our club.

We could do worse than going for Rowe and Baker-Richardson from Crewe.

We could do worse, but we could also do a lot better. They may have a combined 10 goals and 3 assists this season, but 31% of those goal contributions were from playing us. Neither are anywhere near the standard required for us to win promotion from L1

If Bird goes in January we could upgrade by getting Joe White from Crewe if his loan from Newcastle ends then . The England u18 is too good for Tier 4 .He does not continually pass sideways/ back and if there is nothing “on” he dribbles past opposition players.
