Tyreece John-Jules - joined on a 6-month loan, extended to end of season

I think there might be more than one reason that TJJ is being so 'carefully managed'. I hope I'm right. I also hope that we get him signed up ASAP. He's got bags of potential, but that will obviously need weighing against his injury record and I'd be wanting specialists to be having a long look at him to see whether his issues are chronic, or now behind him, before making any longer term commitment. If he is over his woes though, it's a big yes from me.

Not sure I'd give him a contract until he can play 90 minutes regularly. Loan to the end of the season with a view to a permanent would be ideal, then get him on the pitch more to see what he can do.

I keep seeing that he is incapable of playing 90 minutes, but has it actually been stated by someone at the club?

Nope - they said that they thought they’d got to the bottom of his injury issues and were therefore being extra cautious with him to make sure he didn’t suffer a relapse - though that doesn’t fit the narrative of some on here….

No, but nobody is officially going to say we've got a player who can't play a full game.

The evidence is right in front of us. Look at his injury record, both before he joined us and since he joined us, it's poor. As @Gaspodesays, we hope we have him sorted but are being extra cautious because of his injury issues in the hope he doesn't suffer a relapse. That tells you that we've got a player whose injury record worries our coaches.

Since he's returned to action with us he's been used sparingly. We don't know whether he can do three games of 90 minutes in a week (or even one) and that's my point - until we do, and until we can be as sure as we can we've got a player who can fully contribute, we shouldn't be offering him a contract.  We've got the rest of the season hopefully with him to put that theory to the test, but do we want to risk offering 18 months (for example) to a player whose previous record indicates he might spend a considerable chunk of that out of action?

Or it tells you that they want to do the right thing by the player and make sure that he's given the best possible chance to fully recover and have a long career in the game......

The narrative of some on here doesn't fit a lot of things !

We should consider signing TJJ as a super-sub if contract terms and physical tests are favorable. Unfortunately, it won't solve the problem that we urgently need another striker. If something happens to Collins, we'll be screwed and I believe everyone is aware of that.

As for TJJ, he appears to be physically raw and weak, yet his first touch and shot are certainly something to build on.

Agreed, both are correct.

Hummm. I don’t see him as weak. He gave as good as he got v Peterborough. Not a granite brick like Cash but no featherweight. But yes his touch is a cut above. There were a couple of passages on the left close to the bye line where the control and short pass were just plain class

Hear what you're saying Vulcan, but I'm not sure too many are advocating 18 month contracts. I'd just like to see him stay to the end of the season with an option on the table if the lad if he does well and proves his fitness, which I think he will. Seems like a low-risk play to me with a lot of potential upside. I think the lad looks like a baller tbh. Also, my hunch is that even if he does extend, PW will still be looking to bring in A.N.Other.

Can’t believe some of you are worrying about signing a young player with potential because of some injury risks. We have signed a bunch of old crocks with poor injury records and no selll on value.

id rather sign a young player with injury risks than more old players with injury risks. Talent and potential can equal big money in the future

He became a crap manager just about to get sacked again, impossible to understand with his accent, a thug for attacking the DJ in a Southport pub, and gave us his cousin, Bobby Duncan, the least said about him, the better. He got an MBE for that.
