The scores are in from the Sagan jury:

1Wildsmith 8 Not too much to do, but commanded his area, saved well when had to and distributed well. Feels churlish to mark him lower.

12Smith 6 Never got going down the right.

3Forsyth 8.5 Shades it for MotM. "You'll never beat Craig Forsyth". Immense. But wish he was playing at left back.

6Cashin 7 Always love his involvement.

17Sibley 8 Wasted at left back. Our opponents must be so relieved.

11Mendez-Laing 6.5 Over on the left wing far too much. Spent after 55/60 minutes.

Osula 5.5 Brought on too late but contributed nothing.

4Hourihane 4 Why? Some awful set pieces and did nothing else.

8Bird 5 Has the ability to dominate and dictate midfield, but continues to mark himself.

7Barkhuizen 6 Should have had a penalty. Didn't do much else.

Dobbin 4.5 Felt he had the best chance of the game and didn't even make contact. And did nothing else.

38Knight 5 Missing his mojo.

9Collins 6 Pretty thankless task with no support from anywhere.

I'd also give the referee 1/10. What are you there for if not to get the obvious game-changing calls right? I despair.

1Wildsmith 7 Hardly called in to action which is testimony to his defenders save for a save at the death which was directly at him. Exudes confidence & has a connection with the fans.

12Smith 7 Has become the reliable cog in the defensive machine that does the job.

3Forsyth 8 MotM A beacon lighthouse on a murky wet day - won all his tackles headed all his headers and cleared the decks. Centre-half play is far more industrial in L1 - more Jack Charlton than Roy Mac.

6Cashin 7.5 won all his tackles headed all his headers and cleared the decks. Cashin & Forsyth are a pair of pistons working in sync

17Sibley 7.5 whilst we miss his attacking edge with him at LB, we get to see his cutting edge and his rasp-like quality. Opponent wingers know they’re in a battle with Sibbo when he fixes his cold-fish eyes on them and utters “I know where you live” as they pick themselves up from heap he’s just put them in.

11Mendez-Laing 6 Probably his least potent game yet; quite-tangle-foot & nothing quite worked for him.

Osula 6 5 minute slot only; needs more time than that Mr Warne.

4Hourihane 6 A bit “flappy paddle” although his dead-balls have aplomb and he delivered a couple which should’ve been despatched into the net-bag

8Bird 7.5 Thumping tackles & intricate channel opening passes.

7Barkhuizen 7 Energy & flow early doors but dampened and fizzled out

Dobbin 7 Frightening pace for defenders which just lacks conclusive finish

38Knight 7.5 Jack-in-the-box energy in advanced midfield but needed a McGoldrick to link with

9Collins 7 Unlucky with a deft diving header which was inches wide but should’ve scored the free-header mid second half. Tends to plough a lone furrow.

Bolton Wanders versus Derby County is a proper football fixture that comes with the ring of Founder Member status. 25.5 k fans saw a full-on blustery-wet affair which lacked finishing flair but it was a pleasure to be part of 5,200 Rams {including the Scottish Pirlot} who out supported the home end by a country mile.

Wildsmith - 7 (another professional performance even though largely untroubled)

Smith - 7 (good in all aspects)

Forsyth - 8 (very composed and reliable once again)

Cashin - 8 (really had his wits about him in defence, possibly edging out Fozzie this time for MOTM)

Sibley - 7.5 (from a defensive point of view, that was his best LB showing to date, and some good attacking play too. Is growing into the role... will he be playing it for much longer though?)

Mendez-Laing - 6.5 (can't fault his endeavour but didn't quite happen)

Osula - 6 (limited time for an impact)

Hourihane - 7 (one of his better performances this season, used the ball well and can't remember a careless pass)

Bird - 6.5 (worked hard but less influential than in recent weeks)

Barkhuizen - 6 (am hoping Warne has his eye on a capable replacement in his position. Isn't quite at the level we need him/his position to be. Having said that, possibly should have had a pen!)

Dobbin - 6 (lively as always, decision-making not quite right as often the case)

Knight - 7.5 (great to see him back and nearly/should have had a goal for his efforts)

Collins - 7 (worked hard and without any of the nonsense this week. Decent effort with header into the side-netting)

Wildsmith - 7 looked composed

Smith -  6.5 still hanging in there - just.

Forsyth - 8 our best player

Cashin - 7 still a bit impulsive but got his foot in when needed

Sibley - 7 iffy start but good when forward

Mendez-Laing - 5 hasn’t been himself since his injury

Osula - 6 no time to make an impact

Hourihane - 7 don’t like his Savage-like antics but he did okay. He deserves better from some of his set plays.

Bird - 7 broke up a lot of attacks

Barkhuizen - 5.5 there’s a player in there somewhere. Short of confidence

Dobbin - 6 all pace, no end product

Knight - 7 lots of energy and commitment but lacking in composure

Collins - 5.5 he is an extra midfield player, not a centre forward. No threat.
