Latest from Percy:

"It's not a Fulham that forest are doing"

Spoiler:

It is very much a Fulham that forest are doing.

The article reads like Percy the fan has written it, rather than Percy the journalist.

If he seriously believes that Lingard turned down a bigger club with better prospects AND more money to join Notts Forest, then I don't really know what to say ?

He blocked me for telling someone in the comments a while ago he’s a forest fan. There was no malice or anything, a simple statement. He’s very sensitive about it.

No idea why Forest are peddling the Lingard wage stories via local newspapers and Percy.

They really expect people to believe that he left £2.5m on the table, not to mention a multi-year deal, to join Forest on a one year deal?

It's very obvious that he was paid a substantial (my guess would be £6m signing bonus) so the wage of £80k-a-week is irrelevant.

Funny thing is, it really isn't something to be embarrassed about.

They have a decent player, if he can replicate his form at West Ham and keep them up, it's money well spent.

Footballer choosing more money isn't the shocking unheard of headline that they are making it out to be.

Really weird, especially when you see some of their fans on Twitter claiming it's the history, 2 stars and being the bigger club.

I think they’re really struggling with the fact that people outside of Nottinghamshire just can’t see that they’re massive, must be frustrating for them that people are so blind to the obvious. They play at the “world famous” city ground after all.

Or mistaking a nostalgic and slightly patronising "ah, that's nice, notts forest get a season in the top flight, remember Brian Clough, he was a character." for "forest are massive and belonging at the top table " requires some willful delusion.

I do wonder if their match day announcer will continue with calling it the “world famous city ground” before matches. I hope so, it will get some ridicule. He’ll probably bottle it when likes of Liverpool come to town but will save it for Leicester, Fulham etc

The first four to six games will probably be their most competitive period in the league which gets a lot closer to the World Cup then they are on holiday until the restart so many of them will be wanting to leave by January after playing in about 16 games.

Cooper added: "There are a number of things that entice a player to come to Nottingham Forest. It is huge club in England, you feel it day in, day out. Players naturally look at the size of the club, fanbase and history.

"They know exactly what the club is about and we have tried to thrive off that history and status, at the same time trying to create a next step and new era for the club."

They really are deluded aren’t they?

Maybe but our Manager would probably be saying exactly the same thing if it was us in their current position. Their USP to players is  similar to ours.

Also said West Ham offered 127k per week and a million signing on fee.

Chose Forest at 80k per week.

Now that could be true, however I'm sure there must be some easily achievable and hefty bonuses for appearances, assists, goals, staying up in there that makes it more lucrative than the West Ham deal.

In a straight up West Ham or Forest choice, West Ham would be the preferred destination at this current time, that's not rivalry talking here and if Forest fans were being honest, they would agree.

Maybe "special deliveries " from Marinkas's boat

The arrogance of this. Thinks he is entitled to play in front of De Gea who is a world class goalkeeper and was player of the season for Man United.

To be fair, if he’s told he’s coming back as their number 1 you can understand why he’s annoyed.

Sounds like a Harry Kane situation, promised a move, then wasn’t allowed it.

Was Henderson right to come out like this, time will tell, he’s basically ended any chance of a career at United, with 2 years left on his deal at the end of this season, United will look it to offload and a bargain could be had.

Really needs to make the most of this season now, which will be hard with Forest you would imagine being in a relegation battle.

Are they still all leaving at half time when they're a few goals behind or losing 40% of their fan base because they sold a player.  Lets hope they replace the wooden stands and press gantry made of World War 2 scrap metal in time for kick off.

Looks like they're getting ready to blow another load on a player

Obviously decided the forward they blew 17 million on last week is s***.  Another 10 million hopefully. The last striker they spent a few million on from the Eredivisie was absolute turd and he had 30 goals the previous year.  Hopefully they get his first name on their shirts, would be very appropriate.
