What a window we’ve had. From where we were 14 signings, strong back 4, ridiculously strong midfield and have attacking options, with a strong goalkeeping department when Anang is fit again.

We are in league one, we still have Knight, Bird and Sibley three of our best academy products in recent years are still here, and Bielik is only out on loan at a s*** club.

I don’t think in our circumstances we could have dreamed of a better window than we’ve had. Let’s see where we’re at in January.

And Cashin.

Saturday potentially highlighted the need for Knight’s energy in midfield despite how well he is doing at right back, OR at least a different option for midfield to shore things up and give us a little more control in there (I appreciate this could have been Smith if he were fit on Sat). DET published a list of free agents yesterday and one that stuck out to me as potentially a shrewd option is Jon Flanagan at rb. He’s 29 now so a little younger than some of the other players we’ve brought in, and was once well thought of at Liverpool as a yoof. Wonder if he could come in and do a job, allowing Knight to be a midfield option at times.

Wasn’t Flanagan the one who beat up his GF in Liverpool City Centre ? Another “ lovable” Scally ?

Bacuna used to play right back for Villa and Cardiff. He'll do if he isn't an idiot.

How about Ryan McLaughlin, 27 year old right back, recently released by Morcambe.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_McLaughlin

Matej Vydra is now a free agent, makes sense to me to bring him back to the club.

Vydra is broken until Christmas so we couldn’t afford to be spending money on him even if we could agree a wage.

What part of McLaughlin’s career history ( apart from being a pro footballer) makes you think a journeyman player who has knocked around the lower leagues at Oldham and Rochdale would improve the Rams ? Better off as we are than waste a wage on just having an extra player for the sake of it.
As others have said Vydra has a long term injury and apparently Burnley will offer him a new contract when he is fit.

Perhaps I’ve missed something but isn’t Wisdom still available? Right back or centre half (where we need cover for Davies Stearman and Chester). Does he want more that our wage cap or want higher level).

Not sure how fit Wisdom is , not played for over a year. He has had trials at Pompey  and Brum and neither took him on must be reason why not

1. We don't need a 5th choice CB as cover for Cashin, Davies, Chester and Stearman

2. He'd be absolutely terrible in Rosenior's RB role

3. It would take him months to get up to speed.

6th choice, you're forgetting Rooney.
