Part of me wishes I did, part of me doesn't want to. I kind of feel that if the police had seen it and made an effort to find him, or if I was aware someone had got hurt (I obviously don't know if anyone did or didn't) then I would do.

For all I know - that individual could be on this forum.

Stopped reading at police making an effort.

Just saying, whatever the kick off time fans will be well lubricated.

Yeah, I agree with you mate........I'm pretty sure despite the pleas for calm,  on here and from the club itself, I can foresee some nasty stuff going on up there, from both sets of "fans" I use that word loosely

Biggest problem with all these messages of stay calm etc, is that you are already preaching to the converted

The types that are going to do this, aren't on this forum, aren't reading the club statements, and even if they are, they don't care.

It is 100% going to kick off, play into Gibsons hand, and we will foot the bill, and fans from other clubs will love it. Any argument will just have it thrown back at us

I’ll be there, meeting mates I’ve not seen for way too long. Yes a few quality ales on our way there. Never looked for or caused any bother despite a shaven head (that used to create its own perception!).

Shall I lead a chant of…..

CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND, YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT!

Or is that too antagonistic ?

I'm afraid that as soon as they start singing 'that' song, all hellfire is going to break loose and it won't be only the usual cap wearing 18 year old who film themselves and post comments about limbs and pyros.  There may be a few 'older' campaigners who are just as disgruntled making this kind of trip. The easiest answer is to postpone the game.  If they don't, I expect to see scenes reminiscent of Millwall away in 94.

If you think scenes will be like outside that night. . . . . . . . you were not there!!  Boro and Derby today,  pussycats compared to Millwalls knuckledraggers that night

I was.  Great fun wasn't it.  Coach drivers turning all the lights off and doing 40 in pedestrian areas to avoid old ladies throwing stones.  A lot of older boys were out of retirement that evening or it could have been much worse.  We actually held our own quite well that evening.

I was thinking about getting a ticket for Boro but figured I'd rather spend my money at the club and get 2 home tickets instead. But another reason I decided not to get a ticket was because I fully expect there to be violence at this fixture. If the police had any sense they'd postpone this game until tempers have cooled slightly. Yes, Boro fans are going to provoke and be utter dicks but we cannot rise to the bait. They'll be some going who are wanting to cause trouble but the vast majority I am sure simply want to support the club, but even people who are quite even tempered will be at risk of getting carried away and doing something stupid. Ultimately, the club need to do as much as possible to ensure this doesn't happen, maybe a message from the players or staff may help in the build up to the match?

I suspect that somehow that Boro fans will be encouraged to get behind their team for this one. They're doing well on the pitch and I reckon the attitude will be to rise above any beef with DCFC. And, the police will nick anyone for the slightest, just to remove them fom the occasion. There will be lots of crap sung from both ends. I might be old fashioned but it'd be great to hear Derby get behind the team in a positive way. If Boro want to indulge in "party" songs then that really is a problem of their own inadequacies and let's not let it bother us. If we worry about Mr Gibson, just leave it, it'll al come out in the wash anyway. Be up for it and don't let the bustards get you down/wind you up.

Was listening to 5live yesterday afternoon as they were focussing on deterioration of behaviour at football matches. This is not a Derby thing. Sounded exactly like "types" people discuss on here at away matches. Think it was head of policing for football generally who gave figures since lock down and this season large increase in incidents already. Mentioned cocaine being major factor and clubs cutting spend on policing. Also (and this bit wasnt surprising) said EFL said absolutely no evidence of increase despite actual figures. Do they do anything well? Would love Boro to be like Huddersfield away (not result) but think worry is more those perhaps going up without tickets?
