This thread had evolved so much we’ve developed into a new species. All in the space of 6 months.

And so begins the (glorious? ) reign of Kirch

(We knew he wouldn’t leave us in the lurch)

just 48 remaining hours must pass

Before Mel exits stage left on his ar$e

Our torment had it seemed gone on for ages

(This thread has more than fifteen hundred pages)

But now it’s done,  it’s just as q advised:

It’s gone so fast we’re pleasantly surprised

The higher average throw in per game is not exactly significant. Unless I missed it, the stats also don’t say whereabouts the throw in are happening. Unless they’re in an attacking position then they’re unlikely to have much of an impact on the outcome of the game.

Having a player with a long throw in their armoury is always handy but I don’t think these stats necessarily suggest they’re more useful in L1 than the Championship.

More throw ins due to teams being less accurate with their passing. Hopefully not a problem we will have.

I have to disagree. The man was a cretin. Is it any surprise they used to pelt him with rotten vegetables.

He was a kind of genius - not just bad, but sooo bad he is held up in the cannon of English language poetry as uniquely awful poetry.

Oh bridge over the silvery Tay....

And staying firmly off-topic, there was for years an entry in the Manchester telephone directory - Johnny Whitewash, Painter & decorator.

Would have been funnier if he was a family planner..

................and another Derby County type of weekend goes for a burton.

I'd hoped with me being a Yorkshireman that Huddersfield would beat Wigan in the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final........No

I'd hoped Mansfield Town would beat Port Vale in the Play Off Final for Nigel Clough.........No

I'd hoped Liverpool would beat Real Madrid in the Champions League Cup Final for my kids.........No

I'd hoped Huddersield Town would beat Notts Forest in the Play Off Final for me...........No

Surely my hope will improve early on this week.....................

Oh FFS..........just heard that "No Pens Day" has been moved this year to Tuesday 31st May................

............and they definitely misheard the dates at Wembley today!

Watching the CL Final last night I was struck by how few throw-ins there were. The quality of the passing was so very high.

I often do throw ins on the bet builders if I’m having a bet. In one of the games involving Florest there where nearly 90 throw ins that’s loads more than I’d seen before. It’s definitely true about the quality the lower down the leagues you go. It’s also surprising how few off sides aswell
