Long housing chains are usually domestic transactions. Don’t forget, in this case, we’re talking about the transfer of money from abroad. According to Lloyds Bank (as an example) foreign transfers normally take 1 - 3 days (I’m quoting their website) so it’s not quite the same. Having said that, whilst I won’t be too alarmed if it’s not all completed on Monday I will be getting nervous if it’s not by cob Tuesday. No more excuses, no more bank holidays, the EFL need to make it their priority that this takeover goes through this week(I know they're not to be trusted).
