  2. or perhaps 'that's what I can do .....on a good day' It was a good 2 goal performance from SB, no question. But that nonsense at Northampton was unnecessary and unprofessional.
  3. The main problem finishing 3rd, is the team going into the play offs with a negative mindset. Would Warney be able to lift them, having been so close, but ultimately failing to clinch an auto spot? Perhaps, the teams finishing 4th 5th or even 6th better placed, psychologically.
  4. Yes I agree with that. Very few neutral supporters even want to watch PL games outside the 'elite' clubs (Man$hity, Manure, Ar$enal, Liverpool, Spurs, Newca$tle) never mind Ch'ship or below. It's just a case of Sky hoovering up the left overs.
  5. Unfortunately we've opened the door for Bolton Wanderers, and there shouldn't be any complaints if they now win 3 or 4 games to finish in 2nd spot. Our recent results, only 2 wins in 5 is a fair reflection of individual and team performances. We needed to beat Wycombe, but we didn't do nearly enough, and they could have won the game with a couple of good attempts. Hopefully Portsmouth will get something from the Toughsheet Community Stadium, but Bolton will obviously be massively up for that game.

  7. Almost as much as we are getting for Max Bird then?
  8. The fake Sheikh considering investing a big stake? 😉
  9. I'm sure we will win the home games, and the amazing supporters will play their part. Other than that I don't think we will lose any, but could possible draw one or both away games. I do expect Bolton to drop points, probably against Portsmouth. In short, I expect us to finish 2nd. COYR

  11. I agree, momentum is important, but continuing the momentum is going to require significant squad improvement to compete anywhere near the top six in the championship. That will be determined by the available transfer / wages budget, and shrewd recruitment.
  12. Agree with that, difficult conditions for both players and officials, but all contributed to what was a really watchable game and a fair result.
  13. If we gained promotion, which is by no means a certainty, the first season will be about survival on a sustainable budget. Beyond that further progress will probably require further inward investment, with a possible change of ownership at some point.
  14. Aussie women, perhaps?
  15. Yes, that's the second time in a matter of weeks Bolton have scored 5 goals in a match. We could do with a decent 3 or 4 nil win at some point, in case it came down to goal difference. Just don't see us a as a high scoring team at the moment. So yes, avoiding defeat tomorrow (and remaining games if possible) would make auto promotion more likely.
  16. Portsmouth 2 - 1 Rams Mendez Laing
  17. Yes, Ward has excellent delivery, possibly best in L1. Of course we then need someone to get on the end of the quality balls arriving in the box. Probably wasted on the likes of Waggy.....
  18. With our current injury situation, it brings back thoughts of the season George Burley miraculously had us on the cusp of promotion. I think it was Rasiak and Idiakez who both got injured at that crucial time, and with that our chance of promotion was gone. I should say, there are no other similarities 😉 George had us playing some delightful football back then....
  19. Yep, Sibley needs to be in the mix when we are attacking in and around the oppositions area. If not, other than a set piece, not sure where the goals come from 🙁
