Warnock wasn't too complimentary of Gibson in his post-match interview. He found out in the papers this morning before he was actually told, there's been a new manager lined up for weeks, Gibson isn't as involved/interested as he used to be, and maybe if he was, he'd have given Warnock the tools to achieve more.

Maybe Gibson is too busy trying to drive us out of business to worry about his own football club at the moment?

Yet bar his Cardiff snow rant, always very complimentary about Derby County.  Perhaps that was his downfall.?

Apparently Chris Wilder is lined up to replace him. Not Warnock's biggest fan but he deserves better than what Gibson gave him.

So glad we get lessons from Gibson on how Mel Morris should have run this club. Gibson clearly knows what he is doing, gets it right every time.

Yes, the "dominate the division" parachute payments he spent really worked out well, if only dastardly other teams hadn't robbed them by being better at "football"

This is a bit depressing tbh. I think Wilder is a good manager and may do well at boro, but also it's a sad state of affairs that boro is the best job he can get with his record. Seriously, look at his win percentage at every single club, his promotions, the squads he's built, his record is exemplary and what does nearly 20 years of consistently good managerial results get you if you aren't in vogue? A job in Middlesbrough, where dreams go to die.

Warnock knows the game he's in, it's considered stupid now if you fire a manager without having lined up or even sounded out a replacement.

Look at Spurs road to Nuno.

Saying that, if you want another Steve Gibson story, go listen to Stewart Downing on Undr The Cosh podcast.

Signed a waiver so a clause wouldn't be triggered if he continues to play, on the verbal agreement a new contract will be given at the end of the season.

They couldn't afford the extra money, he wanted to stay.

No new contract was offered so had to leave.

Or Danny Mills, they took him on loan from Leeds promising him they would sign him in the Jan window on the same contract. They thought Leeds would go down so they could get him cheaper if they waited so didn't sign him. He was very disapointed about being lied to and said so to Gibson.
