Apparently the wages in June were £1.2m for the month. That should be around £1m a month carried forward to July.

Lawrence will now be the biggest earner by quite a margin.

That was probably net, think you can pretty much double the figure

So obviously as a more qualified coach than LR and having observed him on the training ground ( which I presume you must have done to make that comment ) tell me what training regimes and drills he is using that are wrong and which ones you would use that would be better. By what measure and how do you know whether he has or not made a difference ?

We finished 6th in the league before our championship specialist arrived. Since his arrival, we're now barely capable of competing at this level.

What have you got to suggest he's adding good value?

All the loans were signed whilst under an embargo so surely the max we could pay them is 11.5k a week?

This embargo and losing these players for free could be a blessing. Let’s get back to signing players that are hungry and have the desire to fight for this club. We’ve not done that much since Nigel clough. Martin, barker, keohh, Bryson, Russel, Lee grant (2 time) this could be a massive turning point for our club and a positive one.

Ok, does that mean the embargo is lifted ? Because I’ve just read on the Bristol forum we can only sign players that would earn a maximum of 600k a year. (So it must be true?)

Must be true if the Bristol City forum says it , they know all our business , ought to be really keeping an eye on their tinpot club and their manager who is turning them into Leicester City old boys

  • 2 weeks later...

Derby County owner Mel Morris is facing a 'new financial crunch,' according to The Sun on Sunday, as he is compelled to cover the club's newest round of wages (18.07.21, pg. 61).

A potential takeover of Pride Park has been discussed by an American consortium, but the deal is far from finalised, and Morris now faces a three-point penalty if he does not pay nearly £2 million in wages, says Alan Nixon.

However, this new report contrasts with one from April, when Sky Sports reported that Morris had to pay a total wage bill of £1.2 million for the Derby County playing staff – this means that either the new £2 million figure includes £800,000 in non-playing staff, or the Rams' wage bill has nearly doubled since then.

Doubtful, given that Derby currently have the skeleton of a first-team, making the above £2 million figure appear far too excessive for the existing roster.

Derby County is still in limbo ahead of the forthcoming 2021/22 Championship season, in which they might start with a -3 point deficit.
