The court ruled earlier (late in 2020) that "It's Rebekah Vardy's account" basically meant that Rebekah Vardy was personally responsible, in terms of libel law. The idea being, I think, that a normal person, reading it in a normal way, would assume it meant Vardy was personally responsible. So the reputational damage to Vardy is done and Rooney has to prove, on balance of probability, that Vardy was aware of/involved in any leaking (ie that she "deserved" the reputational damage).

Any damage that Colleen caused to Vardy's reputation with the initial revelation of her Wagatha antics, pales into insignificance when compared to the total destruction of her reputation that Vardy has inflicted on herself with her brain-dead performance in the witness box over the last two days. She has referred to her belief that she has a skin like a rhinoceros. If she turns up tomorrow that fact will be proved beyond all reasonable doubt and the rhino comment will be seen as the only sentence of truth she has uttered since she started giving her evidence.

It's been a brilliant couple of days break from the Administration Thread. Can't wait 'til the morning.

Probably wouldn't cast Coleen as Wayne Rooney tbh.

Russell crow as Wayne, Nicole Kidman as Coleen, Bob Odenkirk as vardy's lawyer...

She could play his wife...or they play each other? In each other's clothes? Title "Carry on Wagging", or "Carry on Coleen" or "Come Clean, Coleen", the latter being a Sam Beckett-type surreal thriller/drama genre...

Clerk to the Court "How do you ...plead, Ms Vardy....?"

RV: "I plead...Not....Guilty" {(S)he faints} <"whosh" goes up in the court room>

Judge "Silence...in ...court!" <bangs hammer> and "Get the lady a chair! - Is she not fragrant!?"...et cetera, et cetera! ?

Spot on with your summary.Suprised Vardy has not dropped the case . However It’s time to put “The Rooney’s” on the rack. Barristers on £10 k a day are very good at making people look fools. It certainly won’t be good publicity for DCFC.

It doesn't matter Jim how good a barrister is or how much their daily fees amount to: if a witness is telling the truth the most damage that can be caused by cross-examination is minimal. Everyone can be prone to error and if a witness gets caught out in that way, a reasonable explanation and acceptance of the mistake takes the heat away. There maybe some things Colleen finds difficult but I expect her to fare much better than Mrs Vardy: she seems much better prepared than her from the outset and much more honest. We'll see. It is up to the barristers to prepare their clients for cross-examination. In Mrs Vardy's case, for one reason or another, that process has been disastrous, simply because her own case has been built on telling porkies and destroying phone and laptop data.

All down to probability, We all have problems with our phones and laptops, We all can delete suspicious activity, But we don't all lose our phones with incriminating evidence in the North Sea taking pictures of the scenery or break our laptops which have "WhatsApp" history, Vardy in the reports is coming over as someone who likes to be in the press, Loves money, Likes her picture in the media, Be the queen of the "Wags" and so on.

Rooney would have seen her accuser as a poor witness, On the other hand Rooney doesn't know what she'll be questioned about, If she tells the truth she'll not get caught out, As the old saying goes..."to be a good liar you need a good memory" Vardy struggles with this

Unfortunately its almost guaranteed to be cancelled. Andrade is getting offers for much bigger fights elsewhere and his injury is very very timely in that respect lol

He knew he would ass kicked at pp and derby boxer would have won with 15k right behind him.

I agree the truth should win out. But these expensive Barristers get footballers “off” all manner of things , you or I would not. At the  end of the day clicks = cash and Katie Price proves there is no such thing as bad publicity. Let’s see what happens.

Even the EFL couldn't pin this one on Derby County and they have no jurisdiction over Leicester City ?

Vardy making claims of being "bullied" in court.
Even though she said she was "forced to say" certain things about Peter Andre's manhood, she now claims some of the quotes in the News of the World article were made up by the writer.

Vardy's barrister trying to pin everything on Watt.
