admira
Potentially on Feb 1st he could be out of a job anyway so maybe Everton are waiting to see what happens.

Doesn't sound like he wants it to go down the legal route, just after a quick payoff to settle. He’s conveniently claiming ignorance of Boro’s claim. Gee SCREAMER !!
Thanks Darren. Can we have that 1.5 million in wages back that you got for the contract clause no one noticed . Would be most helpful.

There'll be caveats in place if he left Derby and appeared at Everton a week later . Think they have form for it though with Watfords manager. Would like to think if he did go, he would want to help the club to get some compensation and might pay the right fee if he takes Knight with him. Dean (hick) Saunders
First time Everton lose a few games on the trot he will come under pressure then probably get sacked. Wayne will have seen how Frank has struggled to get back in the game, but I think being a manager means more to WR than FL. Agree he will struggle to turn it down (if offered) but expect he will find it a risky decision too for long term career. Nearly all established and successful big club managers served an reasonable apprenticeship elsewhere first including some success (promotion for example). Retro_RAM
Not denying Rooney is working wonders but he is just an up and coming manager, the expectations of their fans would they really take the risk on Rooney? Surely by their (too high) standards, they want someone with a successful proven record in football Management. Let's be honest Chelsea wouldn't have gone for Lampard had the transfer embargo not been in place. StaffsRam
Emotionally you would love to think that he’d turn it down, that he’d want to stay and fight it out alongside the lads on the pitch. Rationally however I think there’s just too much baggage and the pull of his boyhood club would be too great. I totally get that and would not criticise him for taking it at all. Yet again, we’d be the victims of circumstance rather than bad faith. minesahartington, BriggRam and RadioactiveWaste 2

Still think Everton would be crazy to appoint him and obviously would not be considering it if it was Joe Shmow who was Derby’s manager right now. Since when has being a former player ever been a good criterion for picking a manager. Usually it goes terribly. Colin Todd, John Gregory etc.. Ram-Alf
All opinion and conjecture, WR has been a manager for 1 year + a few months, If Everton are swayed by our last 5 games then they deserve to be relegated, WR is a Championship Manager, The Premier League is another world, Where footballers have their own set of rules and agendas. Everton are consistantly seen as a basket case, kissed 100s of millions down the drain only to be 6 points off relegation, A £500 million New Stadium, Players who don't/didn't like playing for the Spaniard, Egos enough to fill said basket, Will they ever challenge the top 4, Who knows, It would be like jumping from the frying pan into raging inferno, It's OK being seen as a the 1st coming of the Messiah, But we all know what football supporters are REALLY LIKE, If you dont win owt, Or win games on a regular basis, Then your last nights chip wrapper. Maybe one day our Wayne will go home to a heroes welcome...this isn't the right time...imo. Zag zig and Premier ram
