Now this is a Derby shirt, not those old ones back from the old fusty days, very rare to see one now with the Derby County transfer still on the collar, think mine wore off after a couple of washes, people forget how poor quality these shirts were at the time but boy do they bring back some memories

That blue one was awful at the time and has actually got worse over time..!

Between us, me and my lad have had almost every shirt since the 70's, all got worn that much that they ended up as painting or gardening shirts, worn during training sessions for Sunday/Saturday leagues, school matches, 5 a sides etc...all knackered and worn out now (and the shirts)......living over the border in Staffs it is the law to wear Derby shirts at every given opportunity so every iconic item we ever owned got wasted.

Ive still got a drawer full of old shirts that I wear for mowing the lawn, cutting the hedge, going to the tip, annoying Stokies.

I see the Auto Windscreens one with the zig zag arm patch is now for sale in the nostalgia section of the club shop. First one I bought myself and has made me feel a bit old.  All my remaining shirts went missing including the Yellow third strip (without the sponser) from 91-92 when I moved house.  My favourite was always the burgundy puma put up behind a bar in Ibiza in 96 or 97

Used to have a Patrick away shirt I had signed by the team of the day - must have been about 82.  Got it at a football award ceremony along with a signed ball at the Trocadero . Don't know what happened to it - sure it was an orange one. Been missing about 33 years- maybe its in my mums attic.  Must have been rare - never seen another .

I should probably be more careful . lol

I took a big gamble today, I was never happy with the green signature on the Ron Webster 1971/73 shirt, as I now have the shorts and socks I thought it was time to take action, big action, to try and remove the signature and get it back to its best, obviously this is my most prized shirt so it was a big decision, I decided to use rubbing alcohol, I knew the signature was added around twenty years ago so took a gamble on it not being a sharpie, so I took it out of the frame and covered the signature in alcohol ! What a disaster I could have cried, it was like I had covered it in green paint ! I persevered and then washed it, to say I am pleased with the result is an understatement! A little Christmas present to my self and couldn’t help saying to my self delboys old line of who dares wins Rodney !

Excellent job, I’ve got some used white underpants that could do with sorting by someone with your skills!

I think you are on the wrong website you f*****g freak ?

I’m surprised about the nasty response, last time I met you I mistakenly thought you had a sense of humour.

P.S. I used to have the keepers shirt from the kit before this (as worn by Les Green) must search the loft to see if it’s still there.

That was an attempt at humour, sorry to offend ?

An excellent addition, Steve Buckley’s shirt from the 1979/80 season, he was an ever present and also player of the season, that was the season of the famous 4-1 over forest when they were European champions, the shirt is in fantastic condition and has been well looked after for the past forty years, looks great with the shorts and socks.

Does anybody wear old shirts? I have just found this one still in quite good condition.  It's an XXL so rather large.

One of my all time favourites... and I've never worn mine outside of the house! ?

I got a fag burn right above the "D" on boxing day!  As central and obvious as it could get!  (I've since packed up).  Not even 24 hours old (since I'd unwrapped it), and actually worn for less than two hours!

It was more of a (black) melted mark, maybe 8/10mm diameter, as opposed to an actual hole.

Muckerette... a sales assistant in a well known city centre clothing store, no less... advised me to take it back (to a different well known city centre store, not DCFC), claim it was brand new for Christmas (which it was) and unworn (which it wasn't), and demand a replacement as "It was received in that condition" (which it hadn't!).
"Don't take no for an answer" she wailed!  She claimed the phrase "I Know my rights" would bring a result.  "Stand your ground" she ordered.

... half an hour after entering the store, I was escorted off the premises by Eagle Centre security (or whatever it was called back then?), with the same shirt still in the bag, and my tail tucked firmly between my legs.  I didn't speak to her for a week, and have never wanted to be seen outdoors with it ever since!  ?

Oh... and Muckerette has done all of my returns ever since, regardless of the reason (mostly too tight, these days!)  ?

Don't know how large you are, but you can have this one if you want it.

If Mucker doesn’t want it I will take it off your hands. I am also willing to take one for the team and eat and drink myself silly until it fits. You don’t have to chip in for the tarka daal, cheese and garlic naan and cobra but you can if you want.

Thank you.  That's very kind of you... and I got the impression you were offering to give it away, from your post... but thankfully I'm not quite at XXL just yet.  (Mine's an L, and it's still comfy, although it is a loose fit stylee!) Hopefully someone more suited will claim it.   ??

Be my guest... oh, and enjoy your snack!  ?
