That’s right but for some reason it appeared that when he was named PB, Q didn’t invoke that condition but instead agreed to CK ‘Writing the cheques’ from a date towards the end of May.

I think this is probably the biggest balls up committed by Quantuma, had they insisted on this, and CK tried to move £5m a few weeks earlier, we wouldn't have had the nonsense we've just had. There would've been no "exclusivity" until the £5m cleared and CK wouldn't have been thrust into the spotlight (or under the bus) and wouldn't have been able to back out as soon as it got a but stressful.

Hmm... Kirchner's bid was accepted. Was it credible though?

That was back when there was time to compare bids! Right now, we accept the first workable bid that comes in. We can ill afford to sit on bids hoping better ones arrive.

Anyone bidding but not purchasing the stadium should be ignored and ruled out, looking at the revenue generated this next 12 months by DCFC it is clear and obvious that cash injections will be needed of around £1- £1.5million/month just to keep the lights on as a going concern, by the owner.

If a bidder cannot afford mortgage repayments of around £1.65million a month, then they have not got enough cash to support the club.

I agree. There’s no such thing as a credible bid. There’s either a rejected bid or an accepted bid.

Drop him another text and ask him how much he's bid - we'll then know what's classed as 'competitive'.

    I'm sure he won't mind sharing ?

maybe I already did and maybe he shared. Maybe I don't want Ashley to outbid him so I'm keeping schtum.

Besides, I'm not sure Ashley will stretch to more then 6 packs of Haribo and 3 packs of mini babybel

I thought you'd have been blocked mate, all them Clough out texts ?

Nah, I sent them to Glick! ?

Joking aside, I would never demand someone lose his job to his boss(es). I find it underhanded and I like to be able to look at myself in the mirror. I kept my criticisms to Forums and social media, and openly questioned decisions on the Radio. But I always tried to word it as a challenge than a demand. Such as "If NC cannot do certain things, he should improve his backroom staff..." even when I knew he wouldn't and would end up dropping back down the levels.

Mel Morris was one of the investors at that point, I believe, with him going a long way to funding the likes of Wisdom, Thorne, Bamford - maybe even Russell. I'm not sure. I can't remember the exact date when he came in to help fund GSE, but do remember a story about him being on a conference call with a number of other parties discussing how they needed X amount to secure a loan signing.

at that time though, Wisdom was cheaper than Smith from Spurs to loan. Bamford was still a cheap kid, and I think the original Thorne loan deal was really cheap to get him fit. But that's not me disagreeing with you. Loans were part of the GSE model throughout.

I do like Andy Appleby, but we really ever got competitive when he was being partly funded by the bald rancid testicle that's left us in this mess. All that being said, I'm not greedy - he engineered good decisions on a budget and the club was at worst extremely stable.

I just hope he's got some good backers behind him who can continue to support the club back to a full bill of health.

I disagree, I believe we got competitive when Sam Rush saw fit to bring McClaren in. Had they stuck and not cashed in post Wembley 2014, I'd like to think we'd not be anywhere near where we are now.

We are in the realms on just hoping we have a club. Points deductions and possible relegation to league two a of minor concern to be honest.

I wouldn't be so sure. I would suggest that those are effectively kicking the can down the road a bit further, and we could still end up in danger of going under!

To be fair if we accepted the -15 now we'd probably still be able to assemble a decent squad and have an outside chance of making the play offs. Its the messing around and likelihood of another relegation battle which really rubs me up the wrong way about MA and others stance on our price.

Most people had MA down as the preferred bidder months back, with them predicting us in league 1 on -15 and yet because of Q and CK's ineptitude we're still in no mans land.

the problem is, I doubt there is an "accepting -15".

It's either Golden Share and out of Admin, or out of business. Not sure where the idea that we can land somewhere in between came from.

I think you're being a bit naive there Mostyn. Failing an anti money laundering check has inherent reputational damage. Anyone with £21m can afford a good lawyer. The authorities will not block transfers without good reasons.

hang on, who said he'd failed the anti laundering checks? For all you know, his money is still held up and he just gave up to allow the club to move on.

  11. 15 minutes ago, CornwallRam said:

Man claims to have sent money. Money doesn't arrive.

Man claims money has been sent but the delay is anti money laundering check.

    Money never does arrive.

    Logically there are two options.

    A, it was never sent.

B, it failed the anti money laundering check.

Whichever was the case, was that really someone we wanted owning our club?

in a nutshell, yes. He is young and ambitious and so far the ONLY person that's shown willing to save the club. He cannot possibly have thought his money would fail any checks. Have you ever considered he and his advisors have no prior expertise in this field? Many people fail things, it isn't always down to character flaw ffs!

I believe(d) that CK, simply by aligning with Cook, Rooney and Stretford, had vision and belief, and was basically backing himself/Derby to succeed, and that is what I wanted from whoever owns us.

What I don't want is owners NOT committed to a vision of success.

  12. we have to face it... we need a rich idiot willing to pay over the odds for us to survive as the club we currently are. There's no realism of value that works. It's either someone pays more than we are worth, and we rebuild, or they don't and we are booted out of the Football League. The EFL cannot bypass rules just to keep a decent-sized club in the league. The HMRC won't accept peanuts. The footballing debts MUST be paid in full. DELL want 100% of what they're owed, which is increasing with every loan that Q take from them.

It needs a sugar daddy to survive. End of..........

CK could've been that Sugar Daddy, but the way fans treated him was disgusting over the last few weeks. We will never know if he would have been successful and if he was a genuine tyre-kicker or was scared off.

He’s had previous for withdrawing bids.

On that one, I think he was right to try and renegotiate the price. When they opened the books, they’d tagged on a load of wasteland miles away from both stadium and training ground. CK rightly said he didn’t want the land, reduce the price and sell me the club!

What bothers me is that CK hasn’t come through with the cash yet leaving the likes of Ashley to get us just prior to liquidation.

The creditors get less with Ashley and we get a points deduction of 15 points .

Pride Park is also unresolved at this point if CK fails .

don't be surprised if CK is agreeing a deal right now to finance the deal today, then when his money clears, instantly pay it back. In black and white 'terms' the money hasn't yet come through, but in actual terms, he's done what he said he'd do, but it's just not happened quickly enough for us. However, he's way ahead of any other potential bidder.

Ashley will not be given exclusivity unless his bid increases. Nobody can ask for exclusivity to prevent the admins getting a better deal elsewhere, especially if you've already demonstrated a lack of willingness to spend.

  15. it's a moot point in my mind as this will be over today, but I fail to see anyone's logic in backing MA. If he doesn't satisfy the creditors sufficiently, and the EFL, we have a points deductions and a soft-embargo! We lose any asset we have in terms of staff and player, and we get relegated. Anyone in here using the mindset that fans "pay the wages" and should demand respect from any owner, get a grip, you'll get nothing from MA! If you think communications are vital and your mental health has been affected by lack of updates in recent months, do NOT expect anything from MA and his team.

Whilst CK is an unknown factor in terms of how he may or may not succeed as owner, we know how bad MA has been.

Also note that MA never had to rebuild Newcastle when he bought them, he actually got them relegated!

Well he's already not financially astute, paying too much for us! ? Whilst Nixon goes on about the deal being the least admin would accept that was because he chose not to wait for the point we are at now. But anyway I'm sure if it doesn't work out he'll be able to flip us!

If there’s no plan for progress and success, then any amount is too much and lacks astute reasoning. However, if we are a PL club in 5 years, its a bargain.
