  2. anyone who thinks MA (or anyone else for that matter) can submit a plan to the EFL that doesn't pay off debts BUT does allow a spending spree needs to lay down the crack-pipe and give their head a wobble.

The EFL would never allow such a snide business plan, and if the club deviates from the agreed business plan, further point deductions and umbongos are inflicted.

Stop pining for some ridiculous notion that someone is gonna spend money above and beyond the sensible, cos it ain't happening.

A few folk have mooted the notion that they can't be 'invested' in shows without likeable characters. Don't feel that way myself. I love Succession despite every character in the show being the type of individual I'd throat punch in real life, yet I think the show itself is utterly brilliant.

I watched it all, based on the comments here, whilst I stuck with it, I think I've almost forgotten all the story lines! I found it to be a variation of Billions, which I preferred.

  4. Had my first failure on Wordle today. I think I’m going home to sulk. I had 1 guess left and worked out what it was then realised the second letter could be something else and gambled which was more American, got it wrong ?

I think he spent a lot of money on salaries didn't he, as the wage bill ballooned during his time, but I agree that he didn't waste too much capex on rubbish signings that collapsed to 0 value. Lawrence was the only major signing and he's pretty much carried the attack for a couple of seasons so difficult to claim we didn’t get some value out of him?

not sure he ever negotiated a single salary!

not having that B4, as much as I love ya, this is absolute nonsense, you've lost the plot. These guys are supposed to be your heroes, not your slaves!

It doesn't matter really as MA already has another collectors vinyl to see, he's not short of a bob or two and just likes a bargain to enjoy and later sell on. He manages to make lots of money on original 1st pressings, where other collectors have bought fakes and lose their money.

good luck to him then, that doesn't mean I should've entertained a derisory offer nor declined a better offer in the hope he'd come back with his derisory offer. Especially if I want my vinyl to go to a good home and not end up pinned to wall in his cellar bar, ultimately needing someone to buy them and repair.

That's not what anyone actually said though, as well you know.

maybe not in those terms, but plenty are saying that CK cannot afford the stadium, whereas MA would pay it all cos he's loaded!

One thing we know is that MA doesn't do vanity purchases or ego-boosting investments. One look at the training facilities would confirm this. Say what you like about MM, but he WAS willing to pour funds into the infrastructure of the club.

Well, to be honest, if your insurance went up to £1900 and you thought by just swapping insurance companies would make the risk on record go away you were a bit naive.

They all look at the same database, that ought to have been sorted at the time as higher premiums would have been expected.  I’d have been on it like a dog with a bone.

My missus (named driver) once had a minor bump and the other driver claimed on my insurance, we didn’t as there was no damage to our car, they claimed whiplash and the lot, no damage to our car btw.
A year later our insurance had gone up due to that accident “I” had that resulted in a 8k payout that they never consulted me about.  Anyway, I digress, they had it down as I was driving!  It took some sorting, but I got it sorted.

    I hate insurance companies me.

when I went to renew, the claim was still in discussion, and although they knew I wasn't at fault, they actually advised me to look elsewhere. That doesn't justify them putting me "at fault" in their database when, after they dug out the file, I wasn't. My insurance company at the time (Swift, I think) basically said that I wouldn't get a refund even if the claim was settled. Nobody is gonna give away £1500 to stay with an insurance company!

Except your vinyl collection isn't worth four figures, that is just what you'd like for it to pay off your debts. It's actually worth more like £500.

on the contrary, I got more than I expected, however I wasn't going to give them away for way less than what I knew someone would pay for them. Which on appearance, is what MA appears to have chanced. Early on, Q announced a price to bidders, I bet nobody got near that price, however there will have been degrees of derisory bids.

Oh dear, you didn't list them individually (especially the rare ones)?

I took individual pics of the collectible ones. But couldn't be arsed with separate listings. I had every 12" single for Charlatans, Oasis and Weller, as well as all the Smiths vinyls and some collectible RATM Picture vinyls, but my Pinky & Perkys Greatest Hits was the Marque Vinyl

  11. a few years ago, I put my 12" Vinyl (Music) Collection (records for the youngsters) on eBay. Easily four figure value.

Some moron PM'd me within 10 minutes offering me £300 cash for a quick sale.

I didn't respond to him. Not cos I'm incompetent. But because he was a cheapskate chancer trying it on.

People backing Ashley need to consider that his bid was so insulting, it wasn't worthy of a response.

My insurance once told me that because I’ve been involved in accident where I wasn’t at fault, I’m more likely to be involved in one where I am and that’s why my premium was going up ?

in 2012 a bloke drove across the front of me, from the left on a roundabout (Normanton island to Manor Road), I was going straight over, he tried to go right. A copper witnessed this. The bloke asked to pay privately and avoid insurance. The copper asked me if I wanted to prosecute for "Driving without Due care and attention". I argued that if he's broke the law, it shouldn't be my decision!

Anyway, the damage to me car was new bonnet, wing, bumper, and light and paint match, about £1300. So the bloke couldn't pay. It went through insurance. The two insurances companies agued. The copper went AWOL. My insurance came up for renewal, and cos I had an open claim, my insurance jumped from £400 to £1900 to renew, so I had to change insurers!

Skip forward 3 years, and the exact same thing happens again! On a roundabout in Coventry, an old boy went right as I was going forward and side-swiped me!

My next renewal, I couldn't get many quotes, it transpired after some ringing around, that in the database the insurance companies use, the first accident was entered as my fault. I obviously kicked off and demanded an investigation! They came back eventually and said they'd corrected it, and they were sorry, however from 2013 to 2016, I'd been paying a bigger premium than I should have!

The staircase on Sky Atlantic is very good. Colin Firth as real life novelist Michael Peterson, accused of killing his wife who was found at the bottom of the stairs. A fall? Maybe, but why so many catastrophic injuries?

    I am gripped.

There’s a docuseries about it. Very thought provoking.
