If you find a sport that's ran by people who understand the fans and are actually fans of the sport themselves then please let me know.

The most blatant cheating can be swept under the carpet right in front of your eyes in F1, football, boxing...

And when they all start talking about reputation, fans best interests and such you can guarantee they're plotting a way to milk the s*** out of us

Looks like Prigozhin is attacking the Russian MOD (specifically his rival Gerasimov) and the Russian political elite, over being hung out to dry with no ammunition replenishment or support.

Seems he’s got himself in too deep!

I’d avoid staying in Hotels for a while if I was him

Most of them have wanted their owners to move on for a number of years - I guess they think the the EFL may make this happen - they haven't yet twigged that the EFL model is to punish the club for allowing crap owners to operate rather than punish the owners themselves - the alternative would be for the EFL to admit that they're really (really!) crap at governing the clubs and making sure only 'fit & proper' owners were in place....

The EFL aren’t that bad after all they wouldn’t let an alleged drug smuggler and match fixer buy a club………would they ??

Good news one would think on Ainsworth to QPR. However, not getting the bunting out completely until we see who comes in to replace.

Be intrigued if they stick to a manager who’s philosophy is similar to GA.

Rumours are a return for Martin O’Neill

Who was Tony Bailey , I recall Arthur Stewart & Pat Wright playing a few games in that period .

What is remarkable is that Derby used only 16 players all season and three of them - Powell, Jim Walker and Tony Bailey - made only six starts and four substitute appearances between them although Walker grabbed a crucial winner against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Goalkeeper Colin Boulton and Hector played all 42 league games, John Robson missed just one. The players used and the number of appearances they made were: Colin Boulton (42), Ron Webster (38), John Robson (41), John McGovern (40), Terry Hennessey (18), Colin Todd (40), Roy McFarland (38), Archie Gemmill (40), John O'Hare (40), Kevin Hector (42), Alan Hinton (38), Alan Durban (31), Frank Wignall (11), Jim Walker (6), Steve Powell (3), Tony Bailey (1).

Taken from a DET report. Tony was a Burton lad BC bought for £1000 if my memory serves me right .

He had a large squad at his disposal when he took over - they were in a false position when you compare it to the rest of the division - and then he was backed with expensive loan signings, free transfers of recent PL players and cash purchases like Surridge. In the end, it took a fluke goal at Wembley to get them promoted. And then he's been backed with a level of spending unprecedented amongst newly promoted clubs - check out the figures for yourself. A nomination for Manager of the Season is laughable.

Fluke goal and two stonewall pens not given to Hudds.

The Hundred have announced some sort of “retained list” for each team.

Basically, Madsen and Scrimshaw will be playing for the Manchester and Welsh teams again.

Welsh Fire chose not to retain du Plooy, though I can't imagine someone doesn't pick him in the draft. He enhanced his reputation in the SA20 over the winter.

Hoped that abomination of a competition would be junked or at best played so it doesn’t clash with cricket played by proper teams not made up franchise nonsense.
    Rant over ?

I played with Dave Redfearn for grandstand over 35s, we had a 1/4 final in the Umbro national cup away at Scarborough, we had a bus leaving from the master locksmith pub when someone said where’s Redfearn, one of the other coppers in the team said we might not be seeing him for a while. He ended up spending some time at her majesty’s pleasure . I believe he’s since passed away

A quick check Redfern died in 2020
