  1. We had some great players in 1975, and what a brilliant job Dave Mackay did in bringing in Lee and Rioch. As in Clough's Division One  winning season, just 16 players used!

Saturday's game is just as important for the city as events in 1975 - what a boost for us all it will be to get back into the Championship.

If we go up on the last game I'm on the pitch - I don't believe it's beyond the army of stewards they employ all year for no apparent reason to usher the players off safely - not that I think that would be needed.

You give your game away, its just self-indulgent nonsense. As a supporter since since 1960 and having seen the best and worst of times  I have never felt the need or desire to go on the pitch. As has been said, allowing the players a lap of honour allows all fans to show their appreciation

That was actually the most comfortable afternoon at Pride Park for ages. Having said that, my heart sank when I saw the team sheet, because like a bad smell, Bradley was back in. My only surprise was that Warne's other boyfriend Hourihane wasn't starting, but like Bradley of old, he was the first sub to come on! But they guy done well. But as for CBT - he is clearly a confidence player, and almost vanished after the miss on Wednesday evening, so what better way to boost his confidence than to drop him. Nice one. I hope he gets a chance to shine before the season ends.

Getting to my seat before kick-off looking at the teams out on the pitch, and I felt confident of a win today, and indeed we simply had too much for them today. It was a good performance all round, no-one messed up, no-one failed to turn up, and no-one got injured, and for the modern game, that last one is a miracle! Stand outs were Thompson, who makes such a difference in the middle of the pitch, Cashin (as always) and Sibley, who had one of his best games for a while, and the defence was pretty sound, ensuring no shots on target I believe. And a big shout out to Wilson, who continues to do amazing things with the ball.

First half though, apart from the corners, there wasn't much of a threat on goal from us, either, although we looked the most likely to score. But as the game opened up in the second half we created a lot down our right. One particular move had Sibley flicking the ball over his opponent, a three man one-touch passage and a cross, with NML putting a deft flick on the ball which went inches of the top corner. What a goal that would have been. See - we can do it! (Play football, I mean).

There were some bizarre decisions from the match officials in the first half, which I put down to League One standard refereeing, but second half they managed to lower the bar considerably, but thankfully nothing match-changing.

And finally a BIG, nay HUGE shout out to the fans- the support was superb today, with large sections of North Standers joining in with the noise - Good Onya! And the Orient fans singing "National League Champions - you'll never sing that!" - Excellent!

You wrote that bile-filled first paragraph some time after a superb win. The players you highlighted (abused) contributed 2 goals and an assist.

    Not a nice look!

It's been a busy week for fan engagement. Last night was the latest SCG meeting and the minutes are up on the RamsTrust website now. You can view them HERE.

There is some overlap with the Fans' Forum, of course, but new stuff in here too, including an answer to the burning question about counting  attendance at Pride Park. (You see, I do listen to you sometimes! 😂

Quote  from the minutes  "Atmosphere - Many supporters leave the ground early and watch the TVs in the concourses. Could these be turned off by at least the 90th minute with a plea from the club to stay in the ground and get behind the players?"

Typical Ramstrust busy-bodying. Let fans make their own decision - there are some very good reasons why fans may choose to go to the Concourse before the final whistle and view the TVs.

Happy to be corrected here, but I have it as:

We win all our remaining games, we finish on 105pts

If Bolton win all their remaining games... except the one in which they lose to us... they end up with 105pts.
If they overturn our current +4 GD advantage, they end up above us.

Therefore, Bolton can outdo us, regardless of how we do... which equates to it being not in our own hands just yet.

    🤷‍♂️

If its down to GD as you state then it is in our hands still!

I will try and clarify it for you. We currently are
4th luckiest in the league on this (xG vs actual)
5th luckest in the league on this (same metric)
5th or 6th luckiest in the league on xG points vs actual (-7 excluding today, same source)

    By my database
Chances to goals scored (3.09, avg 3.72) is as lucky as it gets after 33 games
Chances to goals conceded (4.17) is luckier than 72% of teams
The two combined (1.08) is luckier than 86% of teams - for reference last season was quite unlucky and this was only 0.38 against
Finally on results we are 8 points better off, this is luckier than 88% of teams

I cannot imagine what Brian Clough would have said about this nonsense

Preston and Bristol City both sacked previous managers for playing pragmatic defensive football and went on to hire managers who favor possession-based football. Norwich still have parachute payments and have decent players, while a number of their fans want Wagner out.

It’s not a case that you can’t succeed with lesser possession. Derby are proof of that in League One as we are 11th in that category.

Warne can get away with it in League One as we simply have better players than the rest and the opposition standards are so much lower.

In League One we are 11th for possession, 8th for shots per game, 11th for pass accuracy and 6th for chances created. Yet we are 2nd in the league, which is a clear indication that our extra quality is seeing us over the line.

That won’t be the case in the league above.

How many times have you sat at a keyboard and typed this nonsense out? You are bashing your head against a brick wall.

If promoted the aim will be consolidation and who is to say Warne will not be able to deliver that? The owner will have a far more realistic perspective than you.

The big games against the likes of Barnsley, Pompey and Bolton will determine our fate. Especially the latter at home as that will likely turn out to be the real six pointer between 2nd and 3rd.

Warne’s record in the big games is notoriously poor.

Lets stick to facts. The games against  our top 6 rivals MAY settle our fate. We could lose them all and still end up top two, as there are so many other games for the teams involved.

Your steady dripping of poison is very tedious and bears no relation to the results/points we are currently achieving.

It's a fact that taking penalties inflates your performance stats, not just the goal tally. It's also a fact he is 54th in the shooting stats for league one players.

Surely not? Your having a laugh?

More seriously, what a pointless furrow you and others are ploughing. An absolutely futile! waste of time.

I am confident many fans have had their expectations exceeded as far as Collins is concerned this season. I have no concerns about how he compares to other league one strikers and their stats, what I see are the points his goals have earned , not to mention his work rate and vital role defending set pieces.

That first half performance was horrific, second didn’t start well but their goal at least pushed us forward. Two good goals from us, not many other positives though.

Centre mid was awful again, bird actually got a lot better when Thompson and Fornah came on. Although didn’t think either played well when the came on.

Blackett Taylor was poor too, just looked so casual. You’d think be eager to impress on debut but was almost the opposite.

good result but we need to play better very quickly!

Blackett Taylor saw little of the ball, 15 touches in 63 minutes, not entirely down to him I think

Definitely shouldn't be dropping points in those games, but in all likelihood we will. The P'boro game was a good test for us gave a fair indication of where we are this season;  a decent top six team, but not quite at the level of Pompey, Bolton and Peterborough. Hopefully Warney knows his way around the play offs and we can get promoted via a trip to Wembley.

Yes, and but for a defensive mishap that you are unlikely to see in several seasons, our unbeaten run would have continued.

It mystifies me what energises posters of negative bile

Similar. Results without performances was never going to be sustainable.

Warney seems to be learning and the players improving. This season looks like it might shape up nicely 👍

Results get you promotion, performance is a poor second because its is often judged from lofty unrealistic heights.

Perhaps it is not just Warne that is learning but some fans also, with a welcome change of tone, not that I am accusing you of anything.

The first one the defender was not under extreme pressure, if he swings his left foot at the ball it's cleared towards the halfway. He inexplicably turned it directly in with his right. No attacker breathing down his neck, he was stood alone.

Second one I couldn't tell why the keeper seemed to stick a leg out to stop it and failed. Defenders couldn't do much tbf.

I did say that our goals were "aided by" as opposed to "solely caused by" the defending. Mendez had a decent run for the first but he was put through by a big hoof that the defender jumped underneath and missed.

But still no "credit" for Fornah and Mendez-Laing?

You make its sound so easy, was the defender for first left or right footed? There were two Derby players waiting for the ball if he missed it. As Shaun Barker described it, there was not much the defender could do but swing a leg at it.

Your comment on the second suggests woeful defending it was not!!!
