It a very annoying structure whatever it’s called 🤣. Before it went up you could clearly see the sunset from our kitchen window. The neighbours are lovely though.

The sky looked very red with the naked eye last night. I saw occasional shimmers in it as the lights moved. There were a lot of shooting stars too.

Thanks for sharing. Will definitely see the film. This was another book loved by my book club. One person said Colson Whitehead doesn’t waste a word. The Underground Railway is on Prime TV. Not watched it yet. Another film being released soon based on a good book is Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan.

It’s lovely to hear people talking about Daniel. Thank you for helping to keep his memory alive. I loved Remarkably Bright Creatures and will definitely read it again at some point. Another book with an octopus character that I recommend is The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley. My book club loved it.

Just finished Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. It was interesting. It was the right level of sci-fi for me and I empathised with the AI companion, especially towards the end. It threw up some good moral questions about how far AI could go. I can’t help feeling the book lacked something which I can’t figure out what that is. I read the book in a few days and it held my attention but given the popularity of other books by the author, I’m not sure whether this was the best example of their work? I did enjoy it though.

I had been pondering ways I could mark the first anniversary of Daniel’s (B4) death I. A positive way. Tonight, I saw there is a firewalk at Pride Park on 8 November. This is exactly a year to the day of Dan’s passing. So, I will be walking across hot coals to raise money for Derby County Community Trust. I finished reading The Alice Network by Kate Quinn last night. I really enjoyed the unlikely relationships of the main characters and how it switched back to the story of a female spy network in World War I. It’s not an amazing literary work but I found it enjoyable to read.

Not been feeling great with anxiety lately. I’ve been reading From a Low and Quiet Sea by Donal Ryan tonight and I came across the below quote. Gave me a bit of a boost. Struggling to get into this book. I preferred The Queen of Dirt Isalnd.
