  1. I am unsure if this thread is the appropriate for this post, please remove if it is not.

I first encountered B4 on another forum many years ago. It was a very different place compared to this forum, and at times was not pleasant.

That B4 was able to become such a star here is down to @David and his team. What a valuable resource this forum is for Rams fans. Yes we carp, squabble and throw hissy fits, but the reaction to B4’s passing, and his many posts, show what a strong and supportive community we have.

I’d say Warne’s careless way of speaking to the media about his players is likely to be part of the reason. Including about McGoldrick.

McGoldrick did not have his arm twisted to say he enjoyed working with Warne and his staff, in the comments shared earlier in the thread. He could have just not mentioned them had he wanted to.

The Premier League is the most watched sports league in the world.

Derby County are the worst team in the most watched league in the world, therefore making them the worst team in history in their eyes.

I've lived over the other side of the world for 25 years, and football really doesn't exist outside of the Premier League.

You can take your Loughborough and Doncaster, but nobody really cares. They are non existent.

You go to any country in the world and are asked who you support and say Derby County, and they will likely reply with a jibe about their pathetic record in that 2007/2008 season.

Why are you judging  one season and points accrued that year? There are teams with a far worse historical Premier league win %, for example, than DCFC.

It all comes down to trust. Why wait until the game is won before giving them a go? Isn't it better to see what they can do when there is still something to play for?

What did we achieve or learn by flogging Collins for 90 mins? I know some will say once it went 2-1 you wouldn't risk it but I disagree. Especially given the nature of this competition. I hope the next match in this competition Warne is willing to be brave and show that trust.

What we achieved was a win and progression in the competition. Individual progress for junior players  is a secondary consideration, But hey hoe lets knock Warne. Had we converted more of the early chances created it would have been different

Money talks. When Warneball drives thousands of people away from going to games Clowes won't have a choice.

    Ridiculous!

Results drive attendances, are we doing badly in 8th? Some griping fans on a forum will not affect Clowes, How does the loss, should it happen, of some fans compare to the cost of compensation payments if sackings happen? Get back to the real world.

Sorry, but did you read the match thread for Carlisle away?

People didn’t care that we won. They were ripping the performance to shreds.

If people thought we played poorly v Blackpool, no doubt there would have been a willingness to say so.

People were happy because we created chances and scored three goals and that could have been more.

Expecting this group of players to deliver that game after game after game is overestimating their ability.

The attack are going to have days where they miss chances. The defence are going to have days where they switch off and concede sloppy goals.

This is their level. We have to take the rough with the smooth.

    spot on

Very positive thread @Brailsford Ram but what do you think the reaction would be if you had created this thread after a (hypothetical) 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham on Saturday?

I do expect us to win at Cheltenham (and am not really bothered whether we become the first team to concede a league goal to them this season along the way) and I haven't called for Warne to go (though I have criticised our style of play - though not in the Blackpool game).

As other posters have said, points temporarily shut people up.

If (big IF) we were to do anything less than win at Cheltenham, we'd be talking about 4 or 5 points from 9 bookended by failure to beat two pretty ordinary teams. Just like it seems a bit daft to produce (or want produced) a new Paul Warne poll after every result, I'm not sure I'm for concluding that Paul Warne's doing a pretty good job on the basis of a very good result and a point off the play-offs after 10 games. My view on the poll was somewhere between Christmas/the full season, and I intend (!) to be measured in praise and criticism until he's had at least the former in which to do his thing.

Looking at a single game is ridiculous. Look what happened at Bolton. We lost but it was not down to our performance.

We dropped to an average of 23,000 in Clough's last season.

Two of the best games i've ever seen were under Nige. Yeovil and Millwall away, total football similar to the Dutch and Ajax teams of the early/mid 70's. Sam Rush sacked him just as his team were flourishing.

Somewhat contradictory! Claiming  Clough was sacked when the team were flourishing yet providing the dire attendances at that time. He had 4 years and we were going nowhere , with little entertainment. Warne has had 12 months and massive restrictions on signings, with no Barker type fees. His football is no better but he deserves more time

It's strange people can't see this.

The 'Warne out' people think that getting rid of Warne will lead to more success for the club in the medium to long term than the alternative.

The 'Warne in' people think that sticking with Warne will lead to more success for the club in the medium to long term than the alternative.

I imagine if both sets of people were suddenly granted the ability to see into the future - could see where we would be under Warne in another year or two, say - then they'd probably agree about the right course of action now.

We disagree over Warne because we disagree over whether he will be good or bad for the club going forward. We don't disagree on what we want: success, a thriving club, a return to better times.

We all support the club, we all want the club to win.

Sage summed it up without the additional word spaghetti, last sentence excepted.

No disrespect but we’re talking about a club with about the 5th of the turnover, a fraction of the wage bill so you’ve got to put in question our players professional pride with anything other than a win.

The only sliding doors should the worst happen is Simpson for Warne in a straight swap. They’re a well run club, admittedly, they found a delivery driver in Scotland that is probably better than our midfielders who we pay a vast sum of our budget towards.

These are usually the games we win, though, so I’m fairly confident it won’t come to that.

there are a variety of scenarios that could mean we don't win - not least a referee like at Bolton. So you would be happy to blame it on Warne and the players????

Here are some facts for you about the lineups last night. Lincoln City’s side had, collectively, 442 senior league starts across the starting XI, with 63% of those shared between TJ Eyoma, Ali Smith and Haks. Of those 442 games, just 5% were made in the Championship (Burroughs five, Brown 13, Adelkaun five), with Adelkaun, arguably the most experienced player on show in our squad, starting his first game for us in over a year. More than 30% of those collective appearances have come outside of the top four divisions in England and the top division in Scotland.

James Collins, the Derby forward, has made 442 alone, all in the top four English divisions. Derby, as a whole, had 2201 senior league starts across their squad, with a huge portion either League One or in the Championship. There should only have been one winner here, without a doubt. When we’re saying mismatch, we’re being accurate. When Exeter say ‘we played the kids’, but their average age was older than their opponents (Exeter 21.9, Reading 21.7), it doesn’t ring quite as true. When we say it, there’s absolute truth in it, and we only lost 2-0.

    Yawn !!!!!

How many times have we exited cup competitions facing vastly inferior opposition? We won! What is not to like?

Thought she was a good ref, loved it when she booked their player for asking her to card Cashin after he had fouled him.

got all of the major decisions right there maybe a hint of offside about the goal but too close to call on any replays I have seen.

Be happy if she reffed every week after the dross that normally officiates us

She was close enough to spot the handball leading up to the equaliser but didn't.

  13. Sibley, in 4 seasons and 100 appearances has had plenty of chances, has yet to convince managers he deserves a starting place on a regular basis and is just a good squad player. The simple explanation, unlikely to be accepted by many Rams fans, is that he ain't that good. His contributions range from fabulous to anonymous, consistent he is not, and he will not be a game-changer for our season.
