Seeing on social media that there are a few of you buying tickets to come and show your support for my local side, Scunthorpe United-who are getting ran into the ground by an incompetent owner- on Saturday. We are drinking in the last chance saloon with a winding up order and no money left in the pot to pay any wages.
Thank you chaps, it’s much appreciated by our supporters.

    Up the Rams.

Very well done today guys thoroughly deserved the win and really it was men against boys. Your physicality, nouse and experience completely undid us. To be fair we’ve been like this all season, pretty football but no cutting edge and we need a couple of old heads to lead the kids. Unfortunately Evatt is so far down his moneyball route trying to find young players to sell on he completely ignores the fact that you need some grey hairs in the team who’ve been there and done it, unlike your man who knows exactly how to do it and is doing a cracking job. There may have been a few questioning his appointment but I think he’s more than answering them now. I think you’ve every chance of making the top two now if you keep up performances like todays so best of luck for the rest of the season. ??

We’ll I didn’t mean to SCREAMER, just to talk about the match not get involved in a “my balls are bigger than yours discussion” so I’ll keep it to that now!! Like I said you’ve a proud history, we both have and lots of fans of other clubs will be taking an interest in our game today which says something about us. There’s no question you’ve signed some quality players and they’re starting to perform for you now which is good. We’ve gone the other way with mainly young players and they also are starting to come good so it should be a cracking match. We really need to win this to make up for your game in hand and that’s what we’ll be coming to do so whilst it might be tight I think there will be chances at both ends and will come down to who takes them. Let’s just hope it’s the players who decide it and not the officials because we’ve also suffered from them this season. Enjoy the game even if you don’t get the points. ??

Was that push by Fozzy on their number 7 near the South East corner? If so, there was virtually no contact at all, although Fozzy would have felt a movement of air as the diver whooshed past his body"! And, As I said in my match report, it would have needed at least to more Derby players to be sent off to get things anything like even!
There has also been no mention of the fracas involving David McGoldrick earlier in the match. Diddzy had turned his man while shielding the ball, at which point to Accy player simply dropped to the floor. And, as per the rules of EFL football the ref gave a free kick against us. Diddzy protested and was immediately surrounded by Accrington men all pushing, pointing, cajoling. Mxcoldrick pushed away a couple of pairs of hands from right in front of his face, and I  was sure he would get a red card for that. The ref didn't do that ( so he'll be in trouble come Monday morning, I m sure), but it was a very nasty, provocative moment.

I don’t think it will really tell us anything. We don’t know how Rosenior would have done over a full season with these players and we’ll never know how Warne would have done with the Hull squad.
Personally, I think it’s time to move on from trying to make comparisons.

Great turnout from you lot last night.
Quite enjoyed the game to be honest, thought both teams played some decent football.
Both teams are suffering from injuries to key players, so I'd expect us both to remain firm play off contenders when key players return.
Good luck for the rest of the season, see you all at Wembley!

I wasn't going to say anything about the match as I am so late to the witch-hunt, having not had much of a phone signal in my little Devon hideaway.
But I do think there's been some unnecessary hysteria on here over this result, mostly from people who only viewed it on TV and are therefore heavily influenced by the one-eyed narrative on ITV.
Due to the heavy rain the day before and that morning, the pitch was in a shocking state, the players warmed up in the corner in front of us and were slipping all over the place. It churned up the very corner of the pitch where Mendez-Laing makes his runs. His first run after kick-off you could hear the squish squelch with every step. I'm surprised he kept his boots on!
The wind was swirling on and off as the showers rolled in, it was so difficult to predict, which is why Wildsmith wasn't making the halfway line with one kick to be promptly followed by a hoof into touch. He was also being abused by two of our own brain-dead fans.
People said Collins wasn't doing his job  of holding the ball, but he was being bear-hugged by their centre half all game. Likewise Dobbin and Osula, who nearly lost his shirt to a player on one occasion with no foul given. Funny how the ref missed all those but managed to 'see' Cashin's tug from fully thirty yards away and not even realising which player had committed the offence.
I thought the Torquay crowd were fantastic, noisy and belligerent,  they definitely influenced the referee to give everything their way.
Yet despite all that, I thought we'd been clinical enough to win the game until Cashin's unfortunate lapse of judgement. For those laying into him and suddenly calling him out as a bad player, he is in the League One team of the season, has barely put a foot wrong and has shown a responsibility for results that many senior players could learn from. There'll be no-one feeling worse about what he did than Cash himself.
The weather was at its worst after the sending off. The rain and wind were relentless, Warne took off our strongest player (no doubt thinking of tomorrow night) and didn't immediately strengthen our defensive midfield. I'm not sure it would have mattered anyway with the aerial onslaught that followed. When he did decide to act he brought on ball playing Hourihane and ratter Tommo over the head it and kick it style of Rooney - not his most astute substitutions, imo.
Even then we looked like we'd held on for the win until right at the death when the ref miraculously found that extra few seconds to allow them to create one last chance for their fairytale draw. Not good for a beleaguered Derby County squad but another win for the TV narrative.
I thought our lads on that pitch were warriors on Sunday, and applauded every last one of them off the pitch. The invasion just before the finish was scary and the Torquay fan who squared up to Roberts right in front of us wants banning for life. Instead the BBC were putting out tweets celebrating the magic of the cup sparking pitch invasions with laughing emojis.
There is some bloody hypocrisy in football and I don't have to buy into it. You can choose for yourselves.

Normally agree with you on pretty much everything but I don't see the problem here. Warne's reputation is as a manager who plays a particular way (very successfully) and I think Derby fans are asking a) can this work with the squad we have (including the players we spent our bedget on), b) if not, can Warne adapt/tweak his preferred tactics and formation, c) if not, how long will we have to wait to get players in that do fit Warne's methods, and where will we be by then?
All seem reasonable questions, especially after we've seen what we've seen so far.
Personally I believe Warne will see the evidence before him, make a few tweaks, and things will improve. He seems smart enough. I've never bought into this black v white, passing v hoof it narrative. But I do think the formation isn't working, and probably won't, and there are reasonable questions about whether it's smart to change the fundamental philosophy of a club when you can't sign new players, and a lot of your better players don't obviously fit the new way of thinking.
If other fans think it 'silly' that we are talking about such things - I'm fine with that.

Some excellent points made on this thread.
As a general rule I hate changing managers & am loathe to call for Warne's head until well into next year - results haven't been that bad at all but the mood around the club is starting to darken. What disturbs me most is the lack of pragmatism which suggests he has one way of playing & isn't prepared to adjust that for the players he has at his disposal.
In time Warne may well be successful here but I don't believe that will be this season. He needs at least 2 windows to bring in the type of players he needs (made harder by the EFL imposed business plan) & a full pre-season to implement the style he believes will win games. Not unlike Bielsa at Leeds, I'd expect us next August to hit the ground running but the question is do the fans & Board have the patience to withstand a tricky few months until then knowing that the style is always likely to be crude even if results do start to go our way eventually. Then we have the longer term consideration of the effect on the Academy (what kind of players do we now need to churn out) & whether Warneball is our preferred long-term style i.e. if Warne doesn't work out, we would need to appoint another high intensity, direct coach given the players he is likely to have at the club if he is here longer than a year.
I think the Board need to have a thorough review of their 3 year plan for DCFC - some (including the media) will have assumed Warne was brought in to get a quick promotion but I'd argue he is going to take just as long as Rosenior would but with more upheaval throughout the club & fanbase. Is that what they wanted when they made the appointment? I doubt it.

Watched (on RamsTV) the Mansfield game, I know it wasn't our first X1, but was very disappointed in the way we allowed Mansfield to dominate after we scored.
Was at Pride Park today and loved the first 7-8 minutes, but then we went downhill and allowed Port Vale to dominate the rest of the game, much as Mansfield did on Tuesday.
Mitigating factors, yes the ref; After watching the Queen open Pride Park in 1997, I can't remember an away team having 2 penalties awarded to them outside of a penalty shoot-out, and I'm struggling to remember when we last had a penalty awarded against us at Pride Park.  However, how awful the ref was today (and he was appalling), what worries me is the response our current team has to any determined attacks against it.
I really hope that I am over-reacting to a disappointing loss, but I can't not ask the question:  are the current recently assembled squad who agreed to come to Derby County to play for the football Rooney and latterly Rosenior advocated, willing to play the style of football advocated by Paul Warne?

Lose today and he should be shown the door, we have slowly become too predictable and as such there is a pattern now.
A win will lift the players as a team, defeat and we need new manager.
