  1. Pompey fan here, back for a brief visit.. Well done today, a convincing win for you. Hopefully our draw at Bolton did you a massive favour. Good luck lads, see you all at fratton next season
  2. Rumour is Kamara and Ogilvie. Two big losses for us
  3. We (pompey) would be happy with a draw I think. Especially if Bolton fail to win on Monday
  4. It use to be, not so sure now. Like all city's pompey has its good and bad places. You'll love Southsea beach in the summer, historic dockyard etc. Visit old Portsmouth while you're down, it hasn't changed much in 500 years. Lots of pubs with harbour views and cobbled narrow walkways where Henry the 8th would have walked
  5. Great question, and in all honesty I don't think I would. I'm in my early 60's and like most fans I grew up dreaming of seeing my team lift the FA Cup at Wembley. May 17th 2008 will be forever etched in my memory, and to see the joy on my sons face was priceless. Now had we gone bust and ceased to exist, then I wouldn't have wanted the cup win to happen
  6. League one, what a s*** show of a league it is. It's a tough league to get out of. This is our 7th season in league one, and we spent the prior 4 seasons in league 2. Like yourselves we have been proper turned over by owners in the past. So it's 11yrs for us in the bottom two leagues. Not counting my chicken's, because 3 of the past 5 seasons we've been top of this league and blown it. You'll be hard pressed to find a pompey fan that thinks promotion is guaranteed this season. We're only two defeats away from blowing it.
  7. For those of you who have been to fratton park before, you'll find a complete transformation of the away end now. It's been transformed and now has safe standing, plus you can now buy alcohol, which up until a few months ago was prohibited. Fair play lads, you've sold your allocation, so look forward to 2,000+ rams adding to a great atmosphere. The match is a complete sell out, so crowd should be aproching 21,000
  8. Yes the Rutland still, exists. One of the few remaining pubs left around fratton park. Most have been turned into flats. For those of you who fancy a few pre match beers the away pub is called the good companion. It's only a five minute walk from the away end, and they serve food and also have a car park. To be honest you'd be welcome in any pub around the stadium.
  9. Evening lads. Looking forward to our match next Tuesday. Think we'd both be happy with a draw? I'm a moderator on a pompey forum and we'd love to read your views on the match. Were a friendly bunch, so if you want to exchange views with pompey fans please feel free to register and post on our forum. You'll be welcome. They'll be a match thread going up after tomorrow's games are done and dusted. We look forward to welcoming you. Good luck for your remaining games.
