I've already renewed my ST because no matter what division they may play in, and yes, I moan and have a go at the players from time-to-time, I've always supported my club - Derby County F.C.
Yes, I can afford to have a ST and I understand others cannot pay out such a sum, especially with other commitments and cost of living issues, however, it doesn't matter if you only go and watch 5 or 10 matches a season, you are still a Rams fan as far as I'm concerned and whatever support you give the club, it matters.
Championship or League 1 again, always support your club.

PG Wodehouse from the directors box.
Pride Park, that verdant cathedral of sporting prowess, was teeming with eager souls, packed to the very rafters, for this monumental clash of titans vying for the coveted automatic promotion spot. As the erudite young Owen Bradley aptly remarked, one could almost taste the palpable tension hanging thickly in the air, stirring even the most stoic of hearts. Personally, I found myself afflicted with pre-match jitters of such magnitude that I could scarcely bring myself to partake of the morning repast. Indeed, so overcome was I by nerves that I instructed my trusty manservant, Jeeves, to consume it in my stead. The early setback of a hammy for the padel maestro Gayle did little to assuage the anxious throng, yet amidst the tumult, the bobble-hatted Warne, armed with nothing more than his boundless enthusiasm and a penchant for vigorous arm-waving à la Bradley, orchestrated a tactical masterstroke, deftly shuffling his substitute pack like a magician conjuring rabbits from a hat. And lo, it was the wand of Elder that proved the catalyst for glory, delivering a sublime cross to the onrushing buffalo, who, with a flourish of his head , sent the ball soaring into the net with all the grace of a virtuoso pianist striking the final chord of a symphony. Though much of the contest saw the Rams engaged in a valiant rearguard action, the stalwart trio of Cashin, Admirable Nelson, and the Dorian Gray-like Forsyth, aided by the cat-like reflexes of Wildsmith, formed an impenetrable bulwark against the relentless onslaught of their adversaries. With second place now firmly within their grasp, the Rams find themselves masters of their own fate, the jubilant cries of “Ebouuuuuuu” echoing like a chorus of angels as the final whistle heralds their triumph, accompanied by the joyous bounce of victory.

I do wonder about some on here. We were miles better than them and I lost count of how many cheaty little fouls they put in tonight that weren't carded. We were also the only side that looked like scoring all night. Does anyone really think they deserved a point tonight? I really don't get the mardiness from some quarters.

Did you watch the game at PP? We sofa fans had the benefit of replays.
Both yellows for their defender were ridiculous. One for handball when it hit him from two hards away, the second Hourihane dived.
Gayle also handled the ball for the penalty.
Gayle’s opening goal looked offside too.

    It's not Barker's call.
It's the match day sponsors who choose the MotM, and after the game the player, in this case Ward, comes into the Toyota hospitality suite to be interviewed by McFarland, Davies & Wilson, then have photographs with the sponsors.
I know because I was there.

I'm not sure the crowd noticed on Saturday as Stevenage had a player, at every corner, standing next to Wildsmith and either baulked his movement towards the ball or was pulling his shirt as he tried to jump for the ball.
This is a similar tactic that Arsenal having been doing this season in the Premier and has been highlighted a couple of times on MotD, especially in their win against Liverpool recently.

Can I just throw this one in there.

I’m not a Paul warne fan, but I strongly agree with Clowes that we need stability and the shocking fact is that Paul warne is about to become the 4th longest serving manager since Jim smith. Doesn’t sound that great I suppose but considering we have had 25 managers in that period I think that probably tells you something about how bad we have been at retaining talent at that level.
I have already said he needs this full season and then we can make a judgement. I stick by that. The guy needs until May at least.

Well here is DavesaRam-come-lately, partly to calm down / drum up some enthusiasm, partly because of grandad duties!
So .................. highlight of the day was getting past the first season-ticket check using my bus pass!
And a statement - there is plenty of grass in no-mans land.
At half time my intended match report was going to be a single full-stop, which would no doubt have surprised and delighted many on this forum!
Second half was a bit different, after looking like mor of the same. We did seem to be playing at a slightly higher tempo, which is something Warne had asked for. But unlike many, I think our turn around wasn't the substitutions, it was the red card!
What red card? The one that should have been given for the grievous bodily assault on Barkhuisen, which was two-footed, both feet off the ground. Instead it was just a yellow. The match officials, as ever, were appalling, but their incompetence was dwarfed by Derby's first half performance in particular. But the incident got the crowd going, and seemed to get Derby's dander up, and suddenly we had got the upper hand, and suddenly Cheltenham's shortcomings were exposed, resulting in a whole load of nasty trips and fouls around the area, leading to the stunning Max Bird goal. The substitutions consolidated our upper hand and we got 20 minutes of not too bad football. The substitutions did help, as some have mentioned, in that we did start to use the midfield more, so Cheltenham could no longer be sure of which way we were going to play the ball, and the defence began to open up.
Up till then Cheltenham had done a job on us,  yet it was no great prowess on their part. The "job" they did on us is the easiest job in the world. They started with a high press, which we struggle with, but they also knew that we vacate the middle of the pitch, so could play through it easily enough. And instead of parking the bus, they just drove it all around the pitch as they wished. They were very tight and compact, and moved as one, so as well as pressing well, they quickly moved back in defence as we moved forwards. And the "pack" moved across towards which ever wing we decided to fill with wide men to stifle our one form of gameplan. It was so easy.
So should we booo like we did on Saturday? Well the alternative is to applaud the players and the coaching staff for what they are producing. My daughter was horrified at the cheering when Hourihane was substituted - what will that do to his confidence? There is a truth to this, but if you choose a vocation or career which has you performing in front of large crowds means having to deal with their responses. Is the protest at the players? Well, maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But what if the protests are against what the players are being forced to play like? A few months ago Hourihane said "If you want to play, you play the way Warne tells you". IE in other words if you do anything else, such as play football, you are out.
I've said in another thread that maybe it is the shear frustration of the fans knowing we could do so much m ore with this squad if only we would try football. And probably 70 or 80% of the crowd know that if they turned in performances like that, be it the players or Warne and his crew, they wouldn't last two weeks in their jobs, while millionaires, or about to be millionaires can swan about without a care in the world while we mere mortals pend a high proportion of our income supporting them
We can always live in hope that Warne and his crew spotted something on Saturday, and we will go for 3 in the middle and play the ball at ground level, and mix things up a bit. But I shan't be holding my breath.

Why can’t we all just be pleased we’ve signed a player for a fee, albeit a loan fee instead of analysing how it might or might be structured.  Maybe it’s a legacy from mad Mel.  We’re no longer run by someone who got a bit lucky in the IT world, we’re now run by, in my opinion, a sensible businessman.
Lets just enjoy it as another step on the road to being run like a “normal” football club.

We have won 10 of 13 league games, and lost 1....and that was against a very good team who scored in the last minute.
Hardly surprising some fans get irritated by constant negative comments.
Financially we are on a sound footing, we are trying to make additions and we have a decent bunch of lads working their backsides off.
Yet at the first sign anything may be amiss the toys go out the pram.
We have a decent stadium and a fair amount of fans. But we are a League 1 club,  recruiting on a budget for League 1 players, playing against teams all just as desperate to get out this League. We have no divine right to walk over teams so how about a bit of realism at times instead of constantly looking for things to moan about and maybe there would be a bit more harmony.

Just my opinion, we need quality over quantity. We don't need 2 or 3 players who will sit on the bench waiting for minutes, we need a number 9 who can score goals.
If there is a budget, blow the lot on a decent striker, that will be the difference between top 2 and not.

Well that performance last night was an absolute tonic to me after a dreadful Christmas (my dad is terminally ill and has been in hospital throughout Xmas). I wasn't going to go , even though the Kassam Stadium is less than 2 miles away from where I live but my family persuaded me to so I went and apart from that first 15 minutes I had the best away day I've had for years. That second half performance was brilliant; relentless attacking pressure that blew Oxford away. The Rams fans last night were also amazing; you wouldn't have known we were the team 2-0 down. I couldn't speak at the final whistle from all the singing!
Its nights like that that make following this club so special. After what has been a rough few weeks personally I really needed that experience last night.

Yes, that in itself may sometimes lead to tears and literal heartache, but occasionally to more smiles, and more laughter. It feels bad. It feels wrong. But in reality, it’s healthy. It’s normal.
The next few days in particular will no doubt feel like a roller coaster… physically and mentally.
