I think we all have different limits on what is ethical and acceptable. I guess, your limits are at least close to being met.

Mine was bypassed some time ago already. I still enjoy occasionally playing (if you can call jogging after the ball that), but watching football does not interest me. I find it impossible to watch greed in action.

Have to admit, it wasn't easy to give up on something that has been a huge part of my life.

I never watch football nowadays, just DCFC on Ramstv (before anyone chips in, it is football, but not necessarily as we know it).

This punishment of Everton shows up a massive flaw in the Premier League's rules.

They have given Everton a 10 point penalty for making too high losses, but they welcome with open arms the likes of QPR, Villa, Bournemouth, etc, who all made illegal losses in the championship, in order to gain promotion to the Premier. Why aren't these clubs hit with points penalties either in the Premier or on return to the Championship?

    Because they're not Derby County!

Not wishing to leave you disappointed, so apologies for my earlier reaction...

I'm sure there's a link between points deductions and DCFC... but I wouldn't expect to find another anti-Warne rant in there though.

Making reference to a Notts County fan giving a team talk prior to a live TV game involving Notts County, in a thread about live TV games?  Sounds bloody fantastic to me, mate, and bang on the money.  In fact, at the time of going to press, it appears I'm the only one to have offered a reaction to that particular post of yours, thus far... a positive reaction, I hasten to add. 👍

Still struggling to accept a thread about current live TV games involving no teams connected to DCFC to be an appropriate thread to place a post specifically designed to have a rant about Warne, when there are so, so, so many threads specifically designed to have a rant about Warne.  I'm pretty certain I'm highly unlikely to have this specific opinion changed now, regardless.  Sorry!

I fear we are now going around in circles, so as much out of respect to our fellow readers, as to you yourself, I really must back away from the conversation now.   I've had my moan.  You don't accept my stance.  I get that.  I respect that.
From this point, I could only repeat my points, not add to them, so any further reply (by me) would be most inappropriate and unwelcome.
Hope you enjoyed the game, and continue to enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Can we mention that Chris Martin coming back to play for us would be wonderful though? 🥷

Hi. Yes indeed. I worked for 30 years on British aid and World Bank funded projects from Malaysia to the Caribbean but mainly in African countries. Somalia was the scariest, Ethiopia the best. Most African countries are football mad, Premier League obviously but most know all about the Rams

"Weren't they the worst team in Premier League history?" is the one I normally get asked 😢

Highlights don't tell the full story. Up until the goal, we had more shots (4 vs 3), more dribbles (4 vs 0), more tackles (7 vs 1), more corners (4 vs 2), etc..

However, all 3 of their shots came during a 10 minute spell of questionable decisions against us by the ref, starting with the yellow for Colllins.

Didn't those shots come from either corners or free kicks? I can only remember one chance for them, in the second half, where they got in behind us. Every other effort seemed to be from dead ball situations. I've seen that their manager said that 3-0 was unfair as we scored a penalty and two set pieces, and that we never created anything else. He's more deluded than Mr Deluded from Delusionville! Barks should have scored from at least one of his one on ones with their keeper. Bird stabbed an effort just wide. Sibs hit the crossbar......

I still have the PM he sent me inviting me to chat with him if I needed to when my mother passed away. This news has upset me nearly as much as that sad day two years ago.

He sent me a PM at the beginning of COVID when I mentioned that my niece who was a nurse on a COVID ward had contracted it. He was just as positive as he always was with the Rams. I never met him in person, but I confess that I did shed a few tears when I read Angie's post. Life really is a b*****d sometimes.

It's funny because there was absolutely no reason why he couldn't just head it in.

He took the harder option to show off. Just like when players score with rabonas or back-heels, it's done to show off that extra flair and talent. I'm no longer sure if James Collins was born in Coventry, or Rio de Janeiro.

I thought that his chest was the better option. He only had to make the ball go forwards. If he'd tried to head it in it could have ballooned upwards instead of forwards.

Whilst ever we have the current regime we won’t see youth.

Browns development has been hindered massively this weekend. He could have played in 1 of 2 games but instead wasted his time sitting on a bench with no chance of playing unless we’re 4-0 up on 80 minutes.

Youth can add so much to the team when bedded in properly. It’s also something that fans love to see and can also forgive youth if things don’t go quite to plan.

I do think that the experience of being with the first team squad in a big match atmosphere will be of more benefit in the long term than a youth team game.

First off, I reiterate my desire to not take away from Ms Welch's achievements (or ability, for that matter).  She is clearly highly regarded, seemingly by peers and fans alike.
Secondly, apologies if my reference to "box ticking" is in fact the incorrect phrase.  I'm no wordsmith.

But when the PGMOL outwardly state that this is "...The latest step taken by the PGMOL to increase diversity in the professional game..." then I get the impression that this is the reasoning behind this "promotion".  Why would I not?  They're telling me it is!

Had they announced:  "This is the latest step by the PGMOL to ensure those with appropriate ability are suitably rewarded", then my view would have a full on and hearty "Bravo Rebecca"!

I'm not one to baulk away from admitting my dumbness, but if there's any misunderstanding in this instance, I'm blaming the PGMOL, for stating their reasons behind this as being primarily (If not solely) diversity related, and not achievement related.

    🤷‍♂️

One of football's official bodies not being clear (or maybe they are?) in their statement. Who'd a funked it?
