Will never forget the long summer days as well, with Euro 96 games the only distraction. What a year 1996 was pal 🐏

Interesting move. Now I don't know what sort of style they play under Elliot, but under Williamson they played a very very pass heavy style completely opposite to ours. IF they play similar to what they used to, I wonder why we've chosen Gateshead as his destination rather than someone similar to ours.
Surely if they play a very pass heavy style it will be of benefit to him? It will help his close control, his first touch, and his awareness of what is around him. Playing a very heavily biased game could well do the opposite. The ball would be being thumped up to him and he could very easily lose confidence.

Oh, I thought that you might be taking the Luke Littler approach. One does have to think about the future of our family.

Gate receipts and sponsorship each £1m down on my original estimates, with 'other' £0.5m down. TV £0.5m up, hospitality about £200k up. Overall income is c£1.8m lower than expected, altough it is over a 9 month period rather than 12.
I can't accurately say what our wage bill was, but based on previous Clowes' Development wage bill, our club wages were about £10.25m, with £1.25m in pensions amd social security. This would match my original estimate. However, a 12 month period would mean I underestimated by quite a bit.
It looks like our total other expenses were about £10.5m, and we made a transfer profit of just under £1.5m, which results in the £6.8m loss.
£1.25M in pensions. Curtis Davis and co certainly didn't come cheap.

I do think that we should let our dislike for Boro, and their owner in particular, fade into the distance. We are a new club now, with new owners and new faces in the coaching and playing ranks. Embrace them, show them some love. Then when their time comes and we get the chance, stick the boot into the bar stewards and let them get everything they deserve.

He might be our own young player come the start of next season……he’s out of contract. I suspect Warne is thinking beyond this season so he may become more of a (more than useful) impact sub / back up in the run in if we sign another striker
I do think that we should use our own young players (if they are capable of stepping up even for a few minutes), however when his loan finishes he will be free to find a new club. I do think that in this instance we would actually be developing our own player.

Maybe a bit dramatic
Oh come on, he hasn't even been officially announced yet, so he hasn't kicked a ball for us yet. We've got to find some stick to beat him with until then. I hope he smiles on the video.

He doesn't have the finishing ability to play in a front 3
I agree that his finishing has been poor, however I personally don't think that all three in a front three should have to be good finishers. Someone needs to supply the ammunition too.

He is ok wide in a 4 man midfield but not a front 3.
I'm not disagreeing, but why do you think that?

Multi-syllabic-named players
Assuming he passes his medical, I suspect Corey-Blackett-Taylor (6 syllables) will be the player with the joint-most syllables ever to have played for the Rams. Furthermore, there is a rising trend here what with Nath-an-iel-Men-des-Laing and Ty-reece-John-Ju-les. Oh I long for the days of the mono-syllabics like Mick Coop, Tom Ince, Dave Webb et alia. No wonder we can't come up with any decent songs that scan prop-er-ly 😲
If we ever sign anyone even remotely similar to Mick Co-op I'll be changing my allegiance to those down the road.
Matlock Town, not even signing the real Mick Coop at 75 years old wouldn't make change to that lot!

Charlton also being linked to Aaron Collins. With their current league placing, it's a curious time to spend on such players, unless they want to steal a march before more teams will be in a position to spend money in the summer.
I heard that it's James Collins, and they've offered £4M (if Washington is worth £2M then Collins is worth at least double).

I'm trying to figure this out. Does @David Graham Brown have some romantic tale about himself (I presume that with a name like that "he" is male) and@BodminRam which the latter would prefer no one to know about?

Blimey. So many to choose from. I pulled a few albums out of the attic the other day I have kept from way back then. Rumours was one. Bridge over troubled water and Breakfast in America, and Parallel Lines all great albums I hadn’t played for years.
Any of these if you are getting into the 70’s have their merits.
https://pitchfork.com/features/lists-and-guides/5932-top-100-albums-of-the-1970s/
I'm not going to argue that any of the albums shouldn't be on the list, but some of the placings seem way out to me:
Ziggy Stardust 81
Dark Side of the Moon 70
Rumours 41
And finally Led Zep IV at number 7!!!! The reviewer couldn't understand it not being number one, yet it is at 7!
I am however more surprised at some of the albums that are missing. No "Night at the Opera" or "Day at the Races". However the biggest missing album for me is "Bat Out of Hell". One of the biggest selling albums ever and it doesn't even make the top 100 of the 70s.
