The league in its entirety spent roughly £4.5m last season on outgoing fees - Ipswich amount to more than half of that.  I think 15 clubs didn't spend a penny. All but three broke even or made a profit - Ipswich, Forest Green and Lincoln are only ones with a minus net spend. Ipswich the only one really who spent any money.

This is very lazy. Derby is far from perfect but it has
A UNESCO World Heritage Site in the city centre with an award-winning museum at its heart.
A thriving arts scene at Quad, Deda, Derby Theatre, Babypeople and beyond.
Internationally-recognised festivals in Format, Feste, the Book Festival, and many more.
Derbion? Hideous name but it attracts 20 million visits a year.
 
I'm not excusing it's faults but let's not pretend its some sort of wasteland. 

I'd imagine most teams have won more games against the bottom 4. That's why they're in the bottom 4.

You won’t be treated like animals by us, we’re just grateful to be playing clubs like Derby. We’re used to Barnet, Hartlepool, Rochdale, etc so are still rubbing our eyes in disbelief when clubs bring more than 200 fans. But we also rub our eyes in disbelief when we see aeroplanes, so it’s not that big a compliment.

Definitely leggy. Barks was blowing literally 2 minutes after the halftime break. Hard to blame Warne though, as this is a personnel issue, not a tactical one. That said, have we taken steps to freshen the players up? A few days warm weather training wouldn't have gone amiss, but I think we've missed the window now unless there's another international break soon.
Seems to me that PW is damned either way really as when he rests Didzy, he gets slaughtered for playing Collins. Equally, a single goal loss (due to a fluke and a cheating bar steward) away to a team that's won 16/18 at home hardly warrants some of the hissy fits being thrown on here. We're all disappointed and maybe PW could try something different, but let's not lose all perspective, eh!

The first half reminded me of a Billy Davies performance tonight. It was like going to Preston away in 2007. A very astute game plan being applied very well - defend well, stay organised, capitalise on a mistake or an opening. 
Had we gone 2-0 up, I think we go on to win the game. But we lost our way.

I think we’ll be fine. It’s not like we escaped a 4 or 5 nil hammering. For two thirds of the game, we were very much in it.
The time to worry is if we mishandle the games v Oxford, Bristol Rovers, Exeter and Forest Green. Tonight we were frustrating not concerning. It’s a game we could have won and we were edged out.
 

Not been on here for 2 days. Suffering from PLD (post loss depression) it just sounded so grim on Radio Derby. Out pressed and missed chances all against a promotion competitor playing at at home. I thought we might have been good enough to get a point at what was always going to be a tough game but the wheels came off. Clouds are lifting because we get a chance to go again tomorrow. Writing Saturday off as just one of those days. Can’t do much more than that.

Having seen the highlights for the first time, I don't think Cashin was entitled to rip the ball out of Stryjek's arms - according to the laws of the game (as mentioned by others) it's the rightful possession of the team who has conceded. If the scoring team manages to take possession of the ball fairly and get it back to the centre circle unhindered, no action is required AFAICS, but if the opposition delays the return of the ball to the centre spot the ref can issue yellow cards and add time to the end of the game. If either side starts throwing punches, it's a different issue.

I have had a look at the profiles of Barry Manilow, Barry Chuckle, Barry Gibb and Barry Bannan. They were all known as Barry when they were 24. It is clearly more common than you think.

We’re not consistently winning games so I don’t see the point in resting them for both cup games, and fans are paying good money to go to those matches

It is interesting to me that if we had played the way we did in the first half for the whole game and finished those chances the response would have been massively different.
The team were clapped off at half time, the fans were on the whole excited for a less pedestrian approach and it wasn't hoof ball but a quicker progression of play and Vale were on the back foot for a lot of it.
The fans were off their seats expecting a goal way more than we have been.
The second half changed with the two brain dead decisions from our players, firstly to conceded the second peno and then the sending off. After that happened we went long aimless ball and played into their hands and the football was awful.

I'll take us playing like we did in the first half any time over passing it around at the back for 30 mins out of the 45 and possibly mustering a shot once a half.
I'll give Warne no criticism for that second half as the team went away from his direction and the errors were all our own making (peno, sending off, losing the ball running in front of our back 4 when a simple pass is on etc) and I'm not a clapper, just feel I am more of a realist when I'd seen the posative reaction of the fans after that first half.
