I think most fans whose team was 2-0 down at 89 minutes and got a draw would feel like it was a wi  - it certainly brightened my mood!

Personally I think we only need a direct replacement for whoever leaves, and someone to score goals, unless TJJ gets fit and becomes that player.
Although I think someone with a strong physical presence up front would be good as an alternative, Collins doesn't really offer that, so I'd see them as a replacement for him in the squad.
But No 1 target has to be to get Nyambe signed up beyond Jan

Hi Derby fans, I know you have bigger fish to fry in terms of wanting Warne out, but thought I would provide a little information on the current Northampton side to provide you a little context before tomorrows game.
We are very much a yo-yo side between L1 and L2 and as most expected we are struggling this season. We have not lost any game by more than 1 goal but that is not helping our points tally at all. Injuries have been a massive issue the last 12 months or so, its rare we have had less than 8 out injured. Whilst injuries are part and parcel of the game, when you already have a squad expected to struggle it creates a bit of an impossible task.
We are unlikely to have any of of injured bodies back for Tuesday, which means our best CB and best striker are injured. Considering both boxes is where we need to improve that is not good news!
Our manager Jon Brady has lived in the area for decades since moving across from Australia. Played for lots of clubs in our region and then got the permanent managers job after managing the U18's. He is extremely passionate (maybe too much so as gets booked so often), but he is also passionate about the club and area which really has built a link with the fan base. He has also done a fantastic job so far in my opinion, developing our style away from just pure long ball which we have endured a lot of over the last few decades. We are not total football by any stretch of the imagination but have the ability to retain the ball far better now. That being said he is clearly getting frustrated at the lack of available bodies and the low budget he has to work with in L1. Despite our lowly position he is still pretty much universally backed by the entire fan base.
In terms of danger man you are right to highlight Sam Hoskins. He has gone from a player who was very much a marmite player amongst the fanbase to a club legend. He has always worked extremely hard and has played in every outfield position for us during his time here. The problem was his work rate would often mean that he was seemingly undroppable which meant he was an easy target. However Brady has recognised that he is comfortably our best finisher, meaning he is now less involved in build up play but much more in the final 3rd which has seen his goal tally rocket. He was the first player to score 20 goals for us since the early 90's and is now top 10 all time in appearances and goals.
Two other players that stand out for us (that are currently fit) are defenders Sam Sherring and Marc Leonard. Sherring is a young defender who is comfortable on the ball and is continuting to develop, i have no doubt he will go onto bigger and better things. Leonard is on load for the second season in a row here from Brighton and is arguably the best natural talent I have seen in the CM for us. We have had Matt Grimes and Matt Crooks here in recent years but Leonard just keeps things ticking over effortlessly.
I wonder if we may set up with a back 3/5 (I know not popular here!) Something along the lines of....
                           Burge
               Willis Sherring Monthe
    Odimayo                               Brough
                   Mcwilliams Leonard
    Pinnock                                  Hoskins
                        Simpson

I am going for a narrow 2-1 loss which is very much the story of our season. A point would be massive for us but despite your recent troubles there are still several levels between the sides.
Looking forward to being back at Pride Park and will post my thoughts after the game. Enjoy the game and rest of the season!

I hear what you're saying @ExiledinDerby about Brown not quite being ready but, in the absence of John-Jules, our striker options are Collins, Waghorn and Washington.
Surely Brown is worth a place on the bench at the very least?

He signed players to play 3 at the back with wingbacks, but he didn't do it very well.
He didn't sign a LWB he signed a traditional LB who'd never played LWB. Albeit a small sample size, In his few performances for us so far Elder has looked like a fish out of whatever, wherever he's played.
Sonny Bradley had played in a back 3 for Luton, but never in the same style as Warne wants it played. There's more than one way to play any given formation and the way we did 3 at the back everything was too open, there were too many gaps and nobody had the pace to cover them.
Nelson is certainly more of a 4 at the back guy too. I trust him to do well in a 3 but it's doesn't make it his game.
He signed two RWBs (Ward & Wilson) neither of whom are noted for their defensive qualities (the exact opposite). We looked awful defensively in the games with his back 3 and Ward at RWB. Ward's injury forced a change in formation, but there's nothing to say we'd have suddenly improved had that not been the case, had we continued with Warne's preferred system.
He's signed a player (Fornah) who's had some success playing as a defensive midfielder at Reading, but instead of replicating that he's been played in advance of someone sitting deeper than him (Smith), struggled in and now been dropped, even for a game against an opposition where his energy and physicality would possibly have been advantageous. (Warne has then complained that we weren't physical enough, while picking Hourihane as a CDM...)
Nyambe is a quality player, but what's his best position? RCB in 3 at the back is already covered by Nelson and Nyambe wouldn't be a backup RCB, but he also wouldn't be a RWB (and we already have two of them already!).
Has he signed a mish mash? It's bordering on that IMO, but it's an unbalanced and confused mess, mish mash or not.

But he didn't appoint CH as captain,  the squad of players did.
Which I agree with what has already been said, should make it easier for Warne to leave him out rather than unsettle the team, if Warne had a string opinion on who is captain he wouldn't have offered it to the players to decide....

My wife passed away at the end of January from a very rare blood cancer. I cant describe the pain and heartache i feel every single day, and the massive void she has left in our lives will never be filled. I can understand exactly how you must be feeling at this moment, i too have been there,  so  make sure you tap into the help and support available to you from friends, family and those at DCFC. God bless you Josh and keep strong.

For me, one of the issues is when he plays on his own up top we need a proper no. 10 to get close to him, the only time someone occupied that space was when Barks came infield and he scored because Collins had an option instead of going back to midfield.
Of the midfield 3 I would have thought Embleton would have been far more advanced, but as tidy as he may have been, we effectively had 3 defensive midfielders from the positions he took up.
I know Collins was not involved in Sibley goal  but again, when we had someone willing to join in with the striker we scored.
WRT Collins positioning, he was close to making contact, should have done better, to a Wilson cross early on and got in behind when he tamely lobbed it back to the keeper, again should have done a lot better though

Not guessed, but assumed (and assumed wrong). The ball hit Wildsmith in the chest/stomach, but his arm was out and he dived into the ball. You would have to have superhuman cognitive reasoning to see that in real time. I think 90% of refs give it as handball - 90% of the ground thought he handled it.
There wasn’t even much of a protest from our players aside from Wildsmith - watching it on RamsTV it looked like a stonewall red card. It took a camera angle looking right down the barrel that proved it wasn’t, but you can’t blame the ref for that. It’s just one of those things.

That quote would be directly throwing them under the bus though, which would likely be classified as unprofessional. He's still technically being honourable by not assigning blame, but also highlighting a perceived inability of the club to close deals?
The truth is we have zero idea how much Warne is involved, and what's going on behind the scenes. The more this drags on though, the more I'm tempted to believe Warne is as frustrated at the lack of progress as the rest of us- that's been my feeling and the post-match comments at the weekend supported this, in my opinion.

Pure devils advocate: what if Warne is frustrated at the club's inability to get deals over the line, and his repeated attempts to draw attention to it are to put pressure on the people in charge of the deals to actually get bodies in the door?
