Crewe Alexandra versus Derby County - Match Day Thread ( FA Cup 1st Round )

Derby trying their best to play through the middle (have been doing most of the second half, tbf) but Crewe are defending like gladiators, making the save or getting a boot in across the box.

The FA Cup script is well written, just watched Chesterfield beat Portsmouth earlier, top of League One.

I'm not sure what Warne is expected to do with the players he's currently got, because no matter who he puts put there/brings on, the results are similar.

Plenty of effort, not enough aggression.

And as I type that, Derby score.

Credit to Crewe and of course Warne has to take his share of the blame but what has happened to the players? Even Bird looks a shadow of the player he was against Northampton.

This sort of post sticks out like a sore thumb. Every single thing that happens is usually Warne's fault. I'm sure it wasn't always like this.

we're basically playing in the middle then shifting it to the flanks and cross it in. That's not really playing 'through the middle' tbh.
