We're not really belittling them though.

They are little.

You obviously don’t believe in karma. First  ‘why don’t the efl just promote us now ?’  (look what that did for our winning streak) and now this. Please drink at least one pedigree today and tomorrow to restore the cosmic balance

Nah, I'll have a 7up instead and prove that it's a load of nonsense as we won't be 7up by half time.

I really hope this is the last time we play them for a long long time.

No hatred for the weird little club, it’s just that, well it’s weird. Their fanbase is basically the Derby fans doing anything to avoid shopping and DIY when Derby are away.

They even sign ex Derby players in the hope we have some chants to bring across, make some kind of atmosphere in a ground that doesn’t have the capacity to host the Staffordshire tiddlywinks competition.

The 50 legitimate Burton fans try to create some kind of rivalry on social media, Leicester on a much smaller insignificant scale basically.

BBC have no real interest in covering them, we’ve drawn the short sympathy straw in giving them 5 minutes coverage here and there.

Let’s not pretend either here that the whole town doesn’t smell, and that’s saying something whilst sat here in Grimsby..

Stinks more than those pub team kits they get each season and that’s saying something.

The kit manufacturers look like the made up companies Forest have started to create to bypass P&S through rogue sponsorships.

We could probably have a whip round on here and afford to sponsor the front of their shirts next season, although I would rather we had a whip round for a more worthy cause than funding a club who’s fans travel to away in a shopping trolly.

Anyhow, I think we’ll win 3-1.

You have upset the fans on their forum, they are both going to be after you now.

Playing Burton in a competitive fixture is a bit of an odd one. It's a bit like the much older and bigger brother taking their step-sibling out for their first drinks on the town really. I've got no animosity towards Burton, but this fixture has a disconcerting feeling, given that we always used to play them in a friendly at their place. A bit like Leicester, they'll be really up for it from a rivalry perspective, whereas we won't be. But this time, we do have the motivation of a play off push, so we should, as a crowd, make this seem like a local derby even though it really isn't.

I like Burton. They're a well run club that has done extremely well in recent times to get into and stay at a high league level relative to their history. Plenty there we could learn about sustainability and sensible business growth.

No delusions of grandeur or entitlement among their fans (unlike us), as a club you could argue they are punching above their weight (unlike us) and on the pitch they always give us a good game. They're a small, but decent club. Oh, and while we're at it if you're going to slag off Burton have you been into the s'hole that is Derby recently? And that's from someone who lives in Derby.

Given our recent record against them and their respective performances against top 6 sides recently, we'd do well to win this one.

You can see what Burton are up against when local lads like Max Bird are Man Utd fans, as most towns find.I do think Burton have missed a trick by not doubling the size of the away end. They would soon recoup the cost of building work.

Quite enjoyed Tuesday’s A38 Derby

The A38 is about 300 miles long. Mansfield to Cornwall -  I think. Via Birmingham and Bristol and a few others.
Would be interesting to know how many grounds are within, say, 2 miles of the A38 along its whole length.

No rogue sponsorship on this one!

David , would you agree to go Tee-Total all summer if we were to lose to Burton Albion on Saturday?

Not a chance!

I have made a prediction we will win, but that’s as far as it goes.

On paper we have the better players, at home, we will rightly be the favourites to take the 3 points.

Not out here saying they have no chance, this is football, anything can happen.

If stadium, then you can't include Derby or a few others.

Mansfield
Forest (15.5 miles)
Derby (3 miles)
Burton
Walsall (7.7 miles)
Wolverhampton (13.4 miles)
West Brom (3.5 miles)
Birmingham
Aston Villa
Cheltenham Town (5.4 miles)
Forest Green (7.4 miles)
Bristol Rovers
Bristol City
Exeter (4.6 miles)
Plymouth

Fair play to Burton for their achievements, but personally it does irk me that so many small clubs are achieving these days. I know that's an arrogant statement to make but it is a sickener that the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton are clogging up the PL with Luton, Hull and co in the championship and then there's us and Wednesday in the dirt.

It may be just me personally but would i'd rather watch Wednesday v Ipswich over Brentford v Bournemouth or Luton v Rotherham any time.

Anyway i think Burton will annoyingly put a performance in (as they always do) but we'll have just enough this time to scrape a win.

2-1 Derby.

Yes the premiership is absolutely wetting itself at the thought of keeping Bournemouth and getting Burnley back whilst losing the likes of Leicester (don’t care) Leeds (LOL) and Southampton (I hope they survive) - not mentioning the ones we all want to watch go pop

Burnley bounce back 1st season like many of them getting £40 mill a year for getting relegated. So what happens to the £80 mill they don’t need for the next two seasons . Would you believe it they divi it up with the rest of the prem. Easy £4 mill a piece.

I live less than half a mile from the A38 and less than 5 miles from the start in Mansfield.

My sister lives just off the A38, 270 miles away in Plymouth.

I drive to Derby down the A38 to all the home games.
