Negotiations like this need to go to the wire. People like Ashley know what they are doing, and everyone thinks they can get a better price until it is manifest they cannot. He is waiting to give people two choices: get paid something or get paid nothing. The sooner we reach that point the better, as it will be hard - but it is the one shot at sustainable survival we have.
