Barnsley - just to prove that if you have a manager who can organise a team and a good scouting setup then you don't need parachute payments or spend millions to get promoted.

Didn’t we do this in 2007 ??‍♂️

Not sure this Brentford side is anywhere near as good as the last few seasons, although it may not need to be just yet.

But shows at some point a model of buying and selling will catch up to you. As well run as they are it is not possible to keep replacing £25m players with £5m players.

It proves it, but it is a rarity.

The last real underdog with a rabble completely over performing was Blackpool

They haven't yet done that though. Everyone praises Brentford's model but they are yet to actually get promoted as well

We're in danger of becoming a closed shop in the championship. Virtually nobody can compete with the parachute teams. Its looking increasingly likely that they will have a clean sweep in this year and it could even be the same three teams that came down.

Who mentioned Brentford?

A lot of people have praised Brentfords strategy and have used it as an example of the way to get promoted. But they are yet to actually do the key part, get promotion.

Usually there is a team you want to go up for selfish reasons, because they will remain strong next year anyway, but not sure there is this year.

Bournemouth will have to start cutting their cloth if they stay down. Brentford will lose Toney and Dasilva and their market for replacements is closing. Barnsley will lose Mowatt and Dike at a minimum. Swansea will lose Ayew and are turd anyway.

Bournemouth because I've had a few quid on them. Not Barnsley because their chairman's an absolute gobshite. Not Brentford, because the love in on here would be cringeworthy. Not Swansea, because we absolutely dismantled them (in one game at least) and seeing them promoted would be like rubbing salt into a gaping wound.
