hintonsboots
All I want to see is some entertaining football, if that leads to promotion and stability in the Premier League, I’ll take it. A new owner with great wealth could easily emulate Leicester City’s achievements. I really hope Mel stays as he really deserves to see us performing well in the top flight. I highly doubt many Man City fans feel any sort of connection to there club anymore. Hear hear! I associate a lot with" one of our own", such as Knight, Buchanan, Sibley et al. Seeing their past and future success is all part of the tribalism of being a true club fan. I think the same of Fergie's band of youngsters - what an achievement by ManU. Almost made me like that wretched club. But lashing a foreigner's millions on imports will not be the same. Those of us who are apprehensive about this takeover, are worried about our club's soul being sold.

Probably just go watch some local Glasgow sides (not the old firm, never the old firm) I just picked out three of these. I can't understand this point of view. Man City were also-rans and now are a top Premier League team with some of the world's best players. My first memories of supporting Derby are of us as the top team in the country, with some of the world's best players, breaking the British transfer record. Watching us beat Real Madrid 4-1 in the European Cup is one of my finest Derby moments to have witnessed. I would love it if we have an owner with the ambition and wherewithal to reach those dizzy heights again in my lifetime. I know hard core Man Citeh fans and they have absolutely loved their ascent to the football summit.

They used to be the underdog Manchester club full of character, now all that's left is the badge. Every time they win it's meaningless. Have to agree on this, my lasses lad is 12 and a Citeh supporter, a couple of years ago we took him and my lad to a champions League game against Shaktar Donesk City won 6-0, every goal even the 1st one seemed to be cheered the same, its hard to explain but it felt like a token effort or that City scoring and winning was a given right to them.....no not a great atmosphere very sterile

That's your choice. But who do you think misses out? Only you. The business that is football will continue. Personally I'd like like to go back to the days when only Yorkshire people could play cricket for Yorkshire but in a football setting but it ain't going to happen. Young footballers go to the bigger clubs lured by money and fame. One of our brightest and best did that recently. Football is big business and you either roll with it or get left behind. Yep, I will and i wont be the only one. And on the same vein, if they do take over you are prepared to over look all the terrible human rights, the innocent people being murdered, the starving children, the homophobia, the sexual inequality etc etc etc issues that they have just to support a football team....?
