I don't care. At all.

I could point to the 'fact' in the last few days we voted not to give our own starving children a free lunch  and allowed a desperate family escaping persecution to drown off our shores.

But that would be a suspect interpretation of facts.. And tbh pure grandstanding because I'm very selfish and want success.

It would be comparable if the government (for example) directly took the money they were going to use on free lunches and used it to host a giant party, which you attended and enjoyed yourself.

Proud Ram, proud gay man here.

If this is true, that'd be it for me. How could I give my money to a man who's part of a regime that wants to execute people like me?

In all fairness you will probably only get a flogging so don’t exaggerate ? In all seriousness as much as you and I may object. I would be shocked if mass protests will break out if he arrives with a cheque book, bursting at its seams

Championship clubs are cheap. Derby has a great ground, great academy, great fans. Stadium can have increased capacity. EFL love Derby County. Well nearly there. If EFL are against it then they are tackling  people with real money.

Dont get me wrong i can see the attraction we ogt better infrastructure than some PL clubs. One club, city and Championship clubs are heamoraing cash so will be cheap. However my point is if you got 158bn then you can afford aN average PL club

If it helps, I believe that this potential new owner is wealthy enough for profit not to be part of the motive for buying the club. Thus you won't really be giving him your money.

Also, I dare say that you have been part of Derby County for longer than him. It's still your club. Boycotting it will hurt you and not him...well that's how I'm trying to salve my own conscience anyway.

Ask them about that QPR game..when Aguero scored for that first Prem title win?

To be fair, you could even ask them about Kompany’s goal in 2019 that all but secured them the title. Even as a neutral that felt special. Or if it hurts when they lose in the Champs League. They still have highs and lows, there just at a much different level than we are!

A counter to this argument, is the history of the recent investment / takeover. Mel has repeatedly said that any potential takeover would only happen if it were in the best interests of the club. Mel is a smart guy and a brilliant businessman. He will be doing his due diligence and fit and proper persons checks etc. There is no way Mel would just blindly and knowingly sell the club he loves without ensuring the future is in good hands.

Unless Mel's liquid assets are running low and he needs to sell in desperation. Just playing devils advocate, but just because he has our best interests at heart doesnt guarantee he will make the correct decision.

According to @kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong you're not gay, you're a socialist.

In all seriousness, I fully understand your stance. I fear that by not adopting the same view I'm being more than mildly hypocritical. I suppose we should wait to see if it happens in any case, as if the EFL can find a way, they'll probably try and scupper it.

1) If this purchase goes ahead, what would be the appeal to the new owner if they can't spend big ? So i'm assuming they can spend big

2) Regarding FFP, I thought that if the sale is lock, stock & barrel then FFP does get reset - Villa remained in trouble because the owner took on an additional owner

3) Maybe 'selling out' to a mega rich owner is vital for survival as so many non premier teams have a realistic possibility of going out of business very soon

No idea on 2 or 3 but no 1 easy.. the hollybush ?

Not sure about that tbh. What doesnt add up for me is if the sheik is so filthy rich why would he buy a championship club ?

it is a well known fact that there are at least hlaf s dozen club in the PL with a for sale sign. They may not be the most attractive ones , Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Newcastle for instance but they are in the PL. ah well wait and see

Exactly... there are easily 30 clubs that are a better "investment" than Derby in England.... it makes no sense...which is why it wont happen.

The issue about protesting new owners by withholding your own money doesn't really work with a billionaire owner with an immense amount of wealth. Us not buying a shirt or a season ticket will be nothing to them, the mental equivalent of pennies.

So many assumptions in here it’s pretty funny.

Let’s just see how it goes. It’s Derby after all so it’s way more likely to end in a Fawaz 2.0 type disaster than anything else. Anything better than that will probably be a success.

I would rather stick red hot pokers in my eyes that have been soacked in dog poo for 2 months than end up like Man City...

So if it goes ahead and if Derby end up in the top 6 of the premiership I take it you will not support them. That's your choice. But who do you think misses out? Only you.  The business that is football will continue. Personally I'd like like to go back to the days when only Yorkshire people could play cricket for Yorkshire but in a football setting but it ain't going to happen. Young footballers go to the bigger clubs lured by money and fame. One of our brightest and best did that recently. Football is big business and you either roll with it or get left behind.

Personally, I don’t have an issue with this. At the end of the day I support Derby County Football Club. Whoever owns it, Manages it or plays for it gets my support whilst they are here. But DCFC is DCFC regardless of the above.

If they do take over, I’m intrigued to see what they do with the club. Will the retail facility be made true as Mel was trying to add to the stadium? Will they add the bolt on seating to add an extra 10k in readiness for our future promotion to the Premier league? Both perfect timing with no fans to disrupt the building. Would they develop Chad sidings and add facilities there where there’s this opportunity?

That’s without adding playing staff of real quality to go watch. I don’t really care whether there’s a plastic fan sat one side of me as I know my son will be on the other side and we will both be supporting and singing the team on. If we are doing that together, I’d rather it be whilst watching Liverpool and Man City rather than Luton and Wycombe.

Apologies on long post ?‍♂️
