Multiple sources as I recall and Dursun himself recently quoted as saying that relations with the club were good throughout the speculation and once told he couldn't leave he just got on with the job at hand and all was good. Three incremental offers were made and the last of them, while still slightly shy of what Darmstadt had asked for, was deemed close enough to deal. Really tedious given all of this has been in the public domain that folk still use it to beat the club over the head with. It was pretty clear that we left it late, probably after already missing out on about 5 targets but it's doesn't exactly strike me with confidence in the running our transfer dealings when in most windows we either sign alot of piss poor players or sign last minute deals. Last summer was a positive change as we signed some half decent players for once but didn't properly address some key issues e. g lack of goals from midfield and a lack of an out and out scorer after Martin departed. People can talk out their asses all they want about Darmstadt not signing a replacement. But if you actually use the Brain you are given you can quickly realise that's because we left it so late that they had about 5 or 6 days to sign a replacement and I can remember exactly how it panned out as it dragged on for ages. I feel like we thought we could get him on the cheap miss calculated it, and our dealers ended up looking like Del Boy after a dodgy day of enterprise.
