Before u say well we couldn’t have wanted him that much or else we would have offered him what he wanted remember we gave him and many many others what they wanted to join us .... and subsequently we can’t now Hence why we’re clearly moving in another direction with free signings and loans ... with the odd relatively low fee even having sold circa 10m of young talent

LeicsRam
This whole back and forth on whether we let Martin go or whether he decided to leave reminds me so much of this classic twitter debate.
gccrowdpleaser
Lots of disappointment in Turkey that Dursun is not in their squad for the upcoming internationals. That could play into our hands. Player power could see him try and force the move as not getting selected when in Budesliga 2.

And btw, if Mel’s holding our cards, my money’s on us getting our man if we want him.

Nope , we offered Chris Martin a very good contract but the greedy disloyal player held us to ransom ,touted round for MORE and left ,leaving us in the lurch in the same way lampard did after keeping his options open for as long as he could , bet he would have stayed if he couldn’t leverage more elsewhere

Maybe we offered what we could. Someone offered him more and off he went. Not saying I blame him at all but IF it says something about anyone it maybe says more about him than us. Anyway ancient history, he's gone.

Nowt like being bitter about a player fancying a change of scene is there? Don’t think you can really hold it against a player wanting the best financial deal available also when they’ve only a few years left before retirement and their income drops drastically. Reckon any of us would do the same. Martin is still a club legend in my eyes. But, each to there own and all hey?

The club didn’t let him go. Unless we see Dursun shining out of Serdar's backside people will keep going on about it.
