i'll put it out there, our 11 point record could go this season. too many contenders

Well theres 3 teams with 1pt from 5 games, if they were to carry on at that ppg ratio for the entire season they won't even make double figures.

Of course a lot can change and it is really difficult not to limp over the 11pt line over the course of a season, but this could be the best chance we have of someone taking our record for a long time 🤞

The similarities with Derby 07-08 are there to see. They started the opening day defeat to Crystal Palace with a weaker team than they had in the Championship.

And Palace battered them that day.

It was mentioned after the Spurs game that no other team had faced as many shots so far this season. They narrowly lost games, but they were outclassed.

And this 8-0 is reminiscent of when Derby lost 0-5 at home to West Ham which just burst that feel good factor bubble.

Sheffield United’s only saving grace is that Luton and Burnley are effectively Championship sides too. There are points to be won against them, and throw in a lucky win over a Wolves, Bournemouth or Forest at home and they will creep over 11 points.

the problem with that is, they will pick up points off each other, if we had had another 2 teams as bad as us, we may have got 17 points, wooo

Imagine this team in the Premier League today though. It would warrant criminal charges.

Mears, Edworthy, Barnes, Oakley, Jones and Earnshaw and Miller in the mood- not Glenn- were all premier league capable but the rest were dross at that level who couldn't be carried past the first part of the season.

I still think if Barnes had been fit, we'd given Earnshaw more time on the pitch and invested in a quick centre back we'd have had at least 25 points.

Bolton 8 - 1 Manchester United Academy

Honestly, what is the actual point of allowing the academy teams into the EFL trophy?

It makes them feel important.

The idea of this trophy going back in time to Sherpa Van days, was the opportunity for supporters of the Rochdales and Southends to have a realistic chance of seeing their side get to and win something at Wembley.

Now it's a load of bollox that should be boycotted at all costs and avoided like the plague.

Liverpool were on the end of some poor decisions today.

You can understand the Jota yellows were difficult decisions. They both looked like yellows in real time but replays should the first one the Spurs player kicked Jota’s knee while running.

But the offside goal was wrong. He was onside.

Those that saying scrap VAR though the outcome would be the same. The linesman flagged for offside. So he was in the wrong, and whoever was on VAR duty was wrong not to overturn it.

Some suggestions that scrapping VAR will suddenly get the correct result is living in cuckoo land. Officials made more mistakes before VAR. Now, they make less but they are less forgivable.

IMHO it's proof the game is massively corrupt. Which is no surprise given there are billions of pounds at stake here. Something has been rotten in the English game for a long time now. No one can be this incompetent.

What is a surprise is that Richard Keys and Andy Gray are still on telly doing their stuff. Who knew?

Presumably they're part of the malignancy?
