dog
As nothing much seems to be happening (prompt to the fates) I wondered, for good or ill what our most surprising signing has been. For me I think the for good was shilton, for ill I'll go with Ravenelli
PodgeyRam
Chris Weale was a shocker I'll tell you. Thought we were getting a replacement for Chris Martin, ended up with a half retired goalkeeper only brought in so Pearson had a friend in the dressing room. ollycutts1982
Taribo West for me. Bloody loved him. Maybe he could solve our current defensive problems, he’s only 27.
RIMBAUD
Signing John Gregory was pretty big. He was way better than the division we were in. Bad one? Pearson. An awful act of self harm. And I don’t mean the fella who scored at Wembley.
JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta
Johny Russell, only because I signed him for us Football Manager the year before and felt like I was actually a genius for spotting it first.
superzak
Dave Mackay for me..unbelievable signing...Derek Hayles was a duffer
DarkFruitsRam7
Scott Malone was just randomly announced without any rumours.
ilkleyram
Kevin Hector - £40k and one of our best ever, ever, including Steve Bloomer, at a time when that was a fortune. Tim Ward was responsible, with Sam Longson. And Mick bloody Coop. No more needs to be said. The measure of failure by which every signing since has been compared and none have fallen below. AndyinLiverpool
Gordon Hill. I simply couldn’t understand why we’d let him through the door.

ivo_knoflicek
For good: Kinkladze. He had been considered to be the most talented player in English football for several seasons, and although his star was fading it was still a coup and a privilege to see him wear the black and white. For ill: Savage. The one time in 46 years that I almost lost my love for the Rams. (Incidentally, I think the only signing that would have actually have broken me would have been if we had bought David Speedie, circa 1991/2)

Dordogne-Ram
Dave Mackay for me also, closely followed by Charlie George. Was holidaying in the Isles of Scilly, and fellow holidaymakers were as surprised as I was that we had signed CG!
mozza
Bit random but, Brian Clough was to Leeds, what Tommy Docherty was to us.
Tyler Durden
Dean Saunders...until I realised that Captain Bobs son ran Oxford United...the after effects being that if Mark Lawrenson hadnt have resigned in protest it would have spared us all from his punditry
