Needed that 2nd half. Chin up and we go again.

This team will take a while to get going, but there's a lot of quality in there and hopefully we'll be a real threat in time for a late play off run.

Three games in and we've given up on the automatics

Subs should have come earlier. Ending leaves optimism for Tuesday.

On a side note, how did that ref only add on 3 minutes?!

He also stopped the watch for the Millwall fans holding on to the ball to waste time which was a good 20 seconds. Blew the whistle 3 mins and 6 secs into added time.

Not really an excuse, not claiming we'd have grabbed a goal in the extra 14 seconds, but just thought it was a bit strange from the ref.

We looked ok when we realised we had to scrap for it. Mount got into the game and Johnson started to win the midfield we looked a different team.

Defenders in ability to play around the defense aside, there were other worrying signs from the first half.

Most notably, for me, was the lack of energy in trying to get to loose balls. Millwall were first to everything, and every Derby player was backing out of 50/50s.

Gotta see more energy and commitment than that at the start of games, otherwise this pattern of poor first halves is going to be a trend throughout the season.

Second half was much, much better.

We need to cut out the silly goals.

I actually thought Bradley Johnson was our best passer in midfield. Bennett and Nugent brought Mason Mount to life as well when they came on. Forsyth was a great improvement on Malone, also.

                  Carson
Wisdom Keogh Tomori Foryth
                  Evans
          Johnson  Mount
Bennett                     Lawrence
                  Nugent

Go again. Bryson was lost in that system for much of the game. Give an actual DM a go at DM - even Thorne if he's fit.

Huddlestone for Evans and Davies for Tomori if they are fit.

Awful awful lot to work on. First of all stop playing out of defence we are not good enough to do it

Maybe with a different midfield line-up we will be good enough to do it.  We don't have to try to do it all of the time though, no harm in going long occasionally.  Surely having BJ as CDM is an obstacle to any team playing out effectively from the back.

How about  Huddz/Thorne  - Evans,  playing behind Mount.  Giving the latter more attacking freedom too.

We've been better in the second half of every league game so far. The worry is that we can't take that from one game to the next. We'll probably be back to woeful for the first half of the next game again.

We have two loan opening slots left - cover for Curtis, cover for Hudd, because without them we look far too brittle.

Last word for the day - off to get wrecked so that I can forget that first half, and the score.

We cannot play this system without someone in the midfield who knows how to pass a ducking ball.

I don't know what successive Derby managers keep seeing in him, but I don't want to see Bradley Johnson in this team again.

Possibly because they know more than you.  What do you think, he bribes them?

Very strange team selections from Lampard today ... really don’t know what his game plan is , whether players are injured or on the naughty step or what.

what is certain is we can’t keep gifting teams early leads. He needs to sort things and quickly.
